An excellant game, much in the same vein as Leisure Suit Larry.
Great humour in the book and especially
the diary. Infact, it's funnier then many books I've read.
Particuarlly as the character comes to terms with the adjustments.
The tranformation scenes are quite detailed. Examples of which
include how Rex walks after the change. His attitude to handling
items. And how parts of his body now react (watch what happens in
lifts. Not all of him stops at once).

This reminds me of Space Quest IV. Roger Wilco must disguise
himself as a woman in order to use a stolen ATM card. It's funny
how he has to convince the robotic clerk at the dress store that
his girlfriend is his size and he should just try on the dress to
see if it would fit her. Roger walks to a totally feminine way,
looks like a babe (except up close) and responds to people
differently. He also seems to be more than casually interested in
the clothes at the dress shop (you wonder how you'd look in one of
those darling numbers).

I thought it was kinda disappointing that the transformation lasted
a fairly short while and aside from the initial "It's gone!" line,
he never really acknowledged the change, also you're forced to
change back into a man, so no beating the game with him left as a
woman :P.

Where can I read those fragments of the diary?

Yeah JayGee, the game was produced by Micro Prose in the early
nineties and uses 800 x 600 screen resolution. A remake of this
would be really cool. Even better if Rex gets stuck as Rox (the
female version of Rex). It loads off of eight 3.5 floppies.

The game was absolutely awesome back in the day. I remember it was
my first ever legit TG purchase, done in front of parents with my
own pocket money, and I loved playing it. But amusingly the
internet didn't really exist then and hint lines were like £1 a
minute so i've never had to work harder to get payback lol.
However....the game was also very dissapointing. Microprose really
wanted to make it something special when they set out and features
like some dialogue being spoken, very well animated and inventive
death sequences, strong writing and some early 3D in the animated
spinning inventory items all made the game stand out as
impressive........but then they ran into financial trouble.
I think what happened was that an ambitious and extensive game
involving difficulty levels that opened different areas, character
and content was stopped at a certain point in production and the
devs told to slap a final coat of paint on it and get it
out.......a long time before it's ambitions were fully realised.
Sad really cos like I said - it rocked as it was even seeming as it
did a bit....half finished...

Yeah, didn't you know Internet was invented for Metamorphose????

Now that was funny Gambler (not sarcasm).
It's called a database error, poster #10. Posts that the original
date was lost have weird impossible dates on them.
Scratch that, it's because 42 is the meaning of life.
