Interesting read, and a little disturbing. The villain's preference for being a woman is sort of brushed off. Honestly, it was not titilating. Whatever thrill there may have been in the "exchange" is defused by the villain's self-proclaimed sexless nature. i.e., the "changeover" is really no big deal, because the villain has no real framework with which to judge the gender "difference." Again, interesting to read, but I would only give it a marginal recommendation for those who seek more detail on the "exchange." It is well written in most parts, and is certainly worthwhile if you're looking for horror, and are not so picky about TG. :)

Agree with Rose here, only one small part contains an exploration scene. It's more a horror story than a TG. I have to say the ending is rather disturbing, it makes you think long after you've read it what it means.

The book has multiple POV characters, and the book is part of F. Paul Wilson's Secret History of the World, meaning it is (loosely) connected to the Adversary Cycle and the Repairman Jack books.
