The whole Gargoyles series is very much worth watching and highly recommended. This particular episode is particularly enjoyable for the girl-girl catfight between Elisa and Proteus. Great fun.

Another good episode of an excellent cartoon series. Basically, the plot is that Proteus escapes the island and comes to New York. Then he turns into Goliath and attacks something (a helicoptor, I think), to make Goliath look bad, as the whole attack was caught on tape. That leads to Elisa doubting Goliath a little.

Later on, Proteus steals Elisa's communicator (or earpiece, whatever), calls Goliath to a secret meeting in an alley and saunters up to him, flirting with him a little (at least I think he did, faint memories), then knocks him out.

The police officer from the island arrives (checked, found out his name is Taurus, sorry about the mistake in the original New Olympians review) arrives and enlists the aid of the rest of the gang, as Elisa finds her car and communicator abandoned, then the gang rushes to save Goliath. There's a fight where I think Proteus turns into a big strange gargoyle, while Elisa goes to free Goliath. However, when nobody's looking, Proteus disappears, then Goliath has to watch as two Elisas fight it out. One manages to knock the other down, then grab a spears and is either going to cut Goliath's ropes or impale him (and from 'her impression' its obvious its the fake one), before the real one tackles Proteus again, then the police officer and everybody else arrives and he has a mini-forcefield, but can only use it on one.

Then Goliath asks both Elisas if they ever doubted him, even for a moment, one says eagerly she never would, and Goliath identifies that one as the fake, and Proteus gets captured again. Elisa isn't quite sure whether to be happy that Goliath knew her well enough to ask that or not, but still, the good guys win the day so they're all happy.

Just seeing Proteus-as-Elisa is a highlight, especially as "she" acts quite different from the real one, though Goliath doesn't catch on fast enough.
