Very good mystery episode. Deana Troi's body is possessed several times by an alien. Her voice is male & the way her body moves is more male than female. Not really sure if its a gender, but considering how Troi's voice sounds, guess it could qualify as gender. Anyway, the basic plot of the episode is that the Enterprise passes through what appears to be a random anamoly, and are knocked out for about a minute according to Data the android, the only person on board who wasn't knocked out. Then they start finding lots of odd things, like fast growing plants, altered clocks, etc. That includes Troi feeling very off, and feeling like she's been possessed when she looks in the mirror. Also, Wolf ends up with a broken wrist somehow. Turns out that fake anamoly thing was meant to knock out any ships that got too close to some aliens' planet, then the aliens would just move the ship away and the crew was supposed to to just go on their way, but Data's presence messes up the normal procedure. Then the aliens take over Troi's body to talk to them (which consists of "prepare to die," as they really like their privacy), and actually somehow breaking Wolf's wrist when he tries to arrest her, and Picard (woken up by Data) convinces them to compromise, with the crew willingly being put under, then having their memories erased, with Picard ordering Data to cover this up forever. Unfortunately, all the inconsistencies and leftover clues keep adding up, until they decide to head back to the aliens' planet. The aliens' take over Troi's body again, and though Data tries to stop thep crew from finding out, they do, but then Picard convinces them to just retry the whole thing, this time making sure they clean up everything.

What is interesting is that when the aliens take over Troi's body the second time, she's asleep in bed in her nightgown, then she wakes up sensing them, and the aliens enter her body, and her face goes passive. About two seconds later, "Troi" walks into Data's quarters dressed in her standard day uniform (the purple jumpsuit). Too bad we couldn't have seen how the aliens' changed into Troi's clothes. Other than that, decent episode.
