Developed by Lionhead, published by Activision. PC only, I think,
though I might be wrong on that.

Does this mean that when you import a star it doesn't matter if it
was a male or a female you picked up, or can you actually change
the star yourself.

This is more of a "technical" transformation than a "real" one,
IMO.
In brief, the standard way of "hiring" new actors is to select them
from a line of job applicants and "Create Star." But if you want a
star who has a particular physical appearance, you can create that
star with the "Starmaker" program, and import him/her using "Import
Star" instead of "Create Star."
"The Movies" has a weird interface, where almost any action is
accomplished not by menus or keystrokes, but by "picking up" a
person walking around and dragging them where you want to go. So to
import a star, you pick up a job applicant and drag him/her to
"Import Star." The original applicant is replaced by your star.
In the actual movies you create, all sorts of transformations are
possible, of course, like the one in my movie here:
