This is a spoiler so if you want to see the movie skip this part, The female doctor is possessed by the devil giving her a male voice and other symptoms similar to the first exorcist, the devil tries many things to tempt the father, including coming on to him as the female.

Isn't this the failed version of pre-qual of Exercist? And after the shooting was done and the rough cut was done, and shown to the executive producer and the film studio paid for the whole thing---they hated it, and the director and the whole crew were pretty much fired, and the movie had to shoot from the beginning, and the original movie was never released nor shown in movie theaters, but the second version, "Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist" (2005)

Only reason this movie was ever released on DVD was the studio trying to cover its cost, for shooting the same movie, twice, based on two different scripts(or rewritten scripts).

Actually its a little different.

The film did test well, but the executives at the top of Warner Brothers did not like the film, so they vaulted it and started from scratch with Renny Harlin. After Paul Schraeder sued, and the MPAA and unions stepped in, and an executive change, Both versions have since been released. Just pressure on the studio rather than the almighty dollar.

Its much harder nowadays in the internet age to make something you don't like disapear, and the rules make it hard(damn near impossible) for films to be vaulted(locked away never to be seen). There are only 5-10 films between all the major studios that are vaulted.

The film(s) was getting press coverage during most of its production(s) just do a search or run to wikipedia.

Horrible, contrived premise with NO justification for it's existance except a dearth of original scripts and a sentimental affection for the 1973 classic. Pure puke...(no pun I swear)
