MoonSword by Diana Hignutt is latest novel with a TG theme that his reader has come upon. It is also a sword and sorcery novel. First, I shall discuss it as a S&S offering.

A Note from the author: Please DO NOT buy this book! The only
authorized version of this 2004 Spectrum Award nominated book will
be published this fall (2005)in an expanded, totally revised (and
reedited) edition from Behler under the title, MOONSPELL, Book 1 of
the Moonsword Trilogy. If you buy the AmErica House edition you
will pay too much for a book with editing errors, and I will most
likely not be paid. Until the lawyers make them stop selling it,
just don't buy it. I appreicate your patience. If you just can't
wait, the second book in the series EMPRESS OF CLOUDS deals with
the adventures of Tolian coming to terms with her female body and
stands alone. (Buy it at amazon and save 32%). Thanks.

Diana's message is old. However, Amazon offers only the older
Moonsword along with Empress of Clouds. Did Moonspell actually not
appear???

Why, what's wrong with this place that I shouldn't be here? I
posted this on Amazon some time ago:
Hi gang! Diana Hignutt here. I thought that I should clear up a few
things about this novel. This edition is out of print. The rights
have been returned to me. I suppose it's possible that there are
yet a few copies in warehouses somewhere, but there shouldn't be
many. Also, as of right now, there is no other edition of this 2004
Spectrum Award nominated novel planned or scheduled. My deal with
Behler Publications fell through, and I'm busy looking for a new
agent and a new publisher for this book. If and when anything
changes about the status of Moonsword, I'll edit this review to let
you know about it. Also, I should point out that my novel Empress
of Clouds is a stand alone sequel to Moonsword (meaning that you
don't have to read Moonsword to follow the story) and is available
through Amazon. Anyway, thanks for your interest in this product.

You want the honest answer? Because, at this stage of my career--my
last book scored multiple award placements and some major
reviews--I'm close to getting a real deal with real money and a
decent publisher. I'll be going backwards, and sabotage my own
career. I had a novella in an ebook last year--nobody bought it.
Ebooks don't have significant distribution. Sooner or later, I'll
get the whole trilogy together so people can read it. Thanks for
asking...

Good luck. Checked out Moonsword last year from the library, and
found it to be an enjoyable read. No offense meant, but it was
obvious it needed editing in several places. Nevertheless, I can
only imagine how much better it will be with the expanded, revised
content and proper editing. Hoping it gets published again, at
least.

Finally some good news. Four Elements Press ( a new, small
publisher) has picked up my novel Moonsword. It is scheduled for
release in 2009. It will be expanded, revised (i.e. better
editing), reasonably priced, available in bookstores, and online.
I'll give you good folks a heads up when it's out. Don't waste your
money on expensive, used, unauthorized, inferior editions. The
entire trilogy will be published by 2010. Best. D.
