Description
Original Sherlock Holmes short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Sherlock Holmes is called in to investigate the case of a Professor
who turns mad every nine days. Holmes reveals that this was due to
a medicine designed to reverse the ageing process; unfortunately
the maker of the medicine used serum of black-faced langur instead
of a human serum. The professor therefore inherited several of the
langur's characteristics - an ability to climb, thickening of
knuckles, an increase in anger, inmense strength and a dislike
towards his own dog, Roy. The dog eventually broke free of his
chains and killed his master.
"It was the monkey, not the professor, whom Roy attacked, just as
it was the monkey who teased Roy."
