Description
Sam reveals to Sookie that he is a shape shifter by changing from a
dog back to his human form in front of her. He further explains
that being a shifter is hereditary and he can change into various
animal forms, but dogs are easiest for him. He cannot impersonate
other humans since people are "too complex". During the full moon
he cannot control the shift. Later, in a flashback we see young Sam
changing into a puppy while running outside, presumably during a
full moon.
