A tachyon is constrained to the space-like portion of the
energy-momentum graph. Therefore, it cannot slow down to subliminal
speeds. Even if tachyons were conventional, localized particles,
they would still preserve the basic tenets of causality in special
relativity and not allow transmission of information faster than
light, contrary to what has been written in many works of science
fiction.

And yet, the transmission of information at faster than light
speeds remains possible through the use of entanlged particles.
Also, sorry for the tangent off topic everyone.

The Task Force will find a way to slow it down.

Tachyons are theoretical, anyway.

So is the Task Force.

Two, but it would take them over six months.

2, and about 200 idiots making bad jokes about how long it's taking
(for six months)...
I guess this makes me one of those idiots...

No. That doesn't make you an idiot. "Making a bad joke" implies
that humor will be attempted, and in your reply, none was. So, no
idiot moniker for you.

Has it been a "couple of more days" yet?
At this time, I wouldn't mind taking up a collection to outsource
the rebuilding and maintenance of the FM site....

I think it's safe to assume that whomever is in control of that
database is either too busy to bother putting it back up or has
moved on to other things and has retired it.
Even an amateur programmer could have tossed together a database
driven story site by this time. Honestly, its the sort of thing
that takes less than a couple days.
And hosting costs is no excuse... you can get enormous bandwidth
and storage from any number of web hosts for very little money,
including php and mysql support.
At this point the owner of the database should consider selling it
off to someone who will actually develop it, even if its not under
the original name. Or did I miss something and the entire database
is already available somewhere?
Alternatively, if enough of the original authors can be found,
someone should simply setup a new site for all this. Who knows,
maybe include something other than just gender related fiction (how
awesome would THAT be).

Well ... if my instincts are right i would say that fictionmaina is
inching in progress... and it should be up
-*but don't quote me on it*-
in three weeks? lol...
I checked a few links of Fictionmina.com one that led directly to
the categories in Fictionmaina ... usually it says the page does
not exist ... however today it said that the link was broken or
something. So maybe that's good news or.. maybe its just me
rambling and getting everyone worked up... ha ha ha...
In the meantime while we wait for fictionmaina to come back up go
to google and type in
"site:fmstories.com"
then click "repeat search with omitted results included"... you
should get a fixed grab bag of tg goodies
You can search the authors you like there on
http://fictionmirror.dnsalias.net/

I'm kinda in the same boat as fictionmania. I wrote a story for
them a long time ago, and I was going to revisit it with a sequel,
but my hard drive died in a pile, and I don't have a backup copy of
it.
The name of the story was twins, by me (Mary Kay) and if anyone can
find it, I'd appreciate it. I have a good idea for a sequel but
need to reference the first one. Plus, I'd like to recover it as
well as the other stories I wrote for FM.

I can't find it by the name "twins". Do you remember the category?
I may be able to pull it from the source somehow.
