I just went to the mirror site and it looks like it requires a
login and password. I think there's definitely something buggy
about the mirror.

Well, even at buggy, it works a pantsload better than fictionmania
(yeah, I can't access it either... possibly becuase it was taken
down....)
Either way, go back to page 16 of this... discussion... for a list
of sites that have good stories. A lot of the ones on gaycafe were
on fm.
Thanks for posting those btw

About FictionMirror.
I am working on a php alternative to move it to a paid webhosting,
it's slow because I am in exams this week. If somebody knows enough
php and/or web design and is willing to help, contact me.
Sometimes I need the bandwidth so I shut the site down, understand
that currently, it's a home internet.

Alternatively, you can use the java offline search.

i know i might be flamed into submission, but yiffstar.com while
being predominately furry, has a huge amount of tg and other tf
type stories. there is a good system of keywords, and some of the
stories have a plot(gasp). feel free to post whether you found the
site to be to your liking.

Furry! That's absurd!
Consider yourself flamed, good sir...

If anyone is interested, there is an archive of the entire internet
at www.archive.org. If you type in the old fictionmania url at the
top of the page where it says wayback machine, you can access most
(if not all) of fictionmania before it went down.

exactly, not all
a good deal more than half of the indexed pages don't load and none
of the search functions work as that would require the server to be
up and running presently

Yeah, I got tired of dealing with archive.org.
I just look at the other sites posted here right now.
I must say, it IS more fun to be unhappy about FM being down...

Hi,
some time ago I downloaded the Random Title Images of
fictionmania.com .
Given that fictionmania does not seem likely to be re-upped anytime
soon, I thought some might like to have them too:

I'm getting worried-it's been a month since the last Task Force "It
will be any day now" update. Someone may have died slumped over
their keyboard in a marathon recoding effort.

Threads have reached 20 pages in the time it has taken to fix fm...

The Task Force is currently bypassing the flow of tachyons from the
emitters in order to shut down a feedback loop. It should be up
soon.
