yes you can post any gender related cd or fantasy type change story at FM once it goes back online. There is a link in the link page here. And they have a page on how to submit there.

As I understand it they don't usually need money, as there is a sponsor at the bottom of the page on the site. the new server is bought and in canada and someone has to go there to program it or something like that. I suspect this problem may encourage them to do it now.

I hope it gets fixed soon.
I'm going fetal....

__________________________________________

This is to clear up some of the rumors running rampant about the fate
and current status of Fictionmania.

Near the beginning of this month ( November ) our poor overworked
server died. We have been in contact with our host, trying many
different tactics to get it to successfully re-boot, all to no avail.
The support techs at our host belive that the Boot Drive on our
server is dead.

So what happens now - Well... we have been planning on replacing the
server already - as many of you already know. We ALREADY have the
replacement, but it needs a "few tweaks" before it's shipped to your
host to replace the current server. What is holding us up? Mindy,
who is supplying the server has had some problems freeing up the time
needed for the project - she is currently tending her brother who is
dyeing of cancer, and trying to keep her company afloat in these
tough economic times.

The rumors of our server being an "old mac" is false - while it IS a
Mac, it's a Mac SERVER that is only a few years old - but the load on
it is HUGE! The same with the rumor of some people holding the
rights to the software - the software is the current or close it it
versions, and the Taskforce holds the licences, and we also hold the
upgrade licences for the new server already! The rumor that the
server is hosted OUTSIDE the USA, which makes it hard for any of the
professional techs who are on the Taskforce is True - it's in Canada,
not a huge distance, but far enough that Carol, Mindy , I or any of
our other great experienced techies can't just " drop by" and do the
work ourselves.

So... where do we stand ? We are hoping that the people who can
finish the server can get it done soon ( since they are volunteers
it's not like we can INSIST of them dropping their paying employment
and rushing ) , and once that is done, the new server will be shipped
and brought online!

The last rumor is that all of our Content ( the stories, graphics,
message board, etc ) were lost in the drive crash is FALSE - the
content is on a secondary drive which tests out fine, but because the
server boot drive is dead, can't be accessed right now - but it's
SAFE!!

We are in constant touch with the entire Taskforce and the support
tech team at our host company, so while it seems like a long time,
we're moving along in a steady pace to getting FM back on-line.

Hang in there and we'll keep you informed!

What to do until then - well... the mailing list
TG_Fiction@yahoogroups.com ( here ) was first and foremost created so
the authors could post their work for the community. I would suggest
we start posting fiction again - and don't forget to still send the
copies into the FM submission address - along with the submission
form for inclusion once the server is back - and get the stories
flowing there for now!

I hope this helps.

Just bumping this thread to the top. The older FM thread has less current information.

Mr. Ram:

So sorry to hear about Mindy's brother. Thank you so much for the update. As one of the many frustrated readers, I will sit patiently, knowing the fix is on the way.

Has morpheus stories another site to read them?

From: guest (JIm) , 188 months, post #37
how about that wayback machine that was use to get old websites to get the names of stories and the links and then go to the fmstories. I am not a tech-e but is this a possibility. maybe one of the smart people can answer that as an option.

Thanks
