BUMP
We all have to bump it up now!
But seriously the servers are in canada because we can't handle it
here legally in the usa. And we all know there are no computer tech
people in canada!
I kid! I kid! I love Canada!
but the forwards from carol are from her and she is one to know.
She said it is close now so hang in there and the site will be up
again.
by christmas.
I still kid you, my friends! As Eric once titled a story... Soon!

My only problem with it is that new stories or authors, if added,
are not prioritized. Wondering what sites are getting general
fictions nowadays; not porn, cd, herm or shemales.. Stories like
Altered fates, SRS, Bodysifters and just stuff like that?
Any links would be appreciated
Geo
I agree. And not only English stories...

Its been what? 4-5 or more months? I'm surprised the sponser hasn't
canceled. Why not turn the database over to those who have the time
and competence to manage it properly?

Quit your whining! You are complaining about a FREE website being
down too long.
Do you have any idea how ungrateful you sound?
Get off your damn high horse. You have NO right to complain about a
free service not being available.
That's what is wrong with the world today everyone thinks something
is 'owed' to them. If anything you owe the folks at fictionmania
for offering that free service for years and years.

There are other sites out there to look at in the meantime. It does
no good to complain, really. I found some nice ones BECAUSE of this
drought, and I was grateful for it. When FM comes back, though, of
course I'll be happy.
Anyone's welcome to try to start something new up, of course...

If you had told us last fall that fictionmania was going to be down
for over half a year, I wouldn't have believed it...
Funny how time passes...

Post #287, "whining" would be complaining about the site being down
for a few days. You, on the other hand are rationalizing
irresponsible behavior. "Yahoo" is also free. How do you think its
sponsers and users would react if it went down for 5 months? If the
webmaster was doing everything reasonable to get the site back up,
including accepting offered help, the users might feel differently.
As it is, I get the sense this is more about the webmasters ego and
need for "control". Personally, I no longer care. I can live
without Fictionmania. For the rest of you loyal readers, best
wishes and good luck. You deserve better treatment from the
webmaster.

You are way off base on this one. Fictionmania is a free website,
not a free service, like Yahoo. There are only two tech savvy
people on the FM Task force. Mindy the founder and designer of the
the site and Talea.. Mindy has a full plate, with pressing family
matters and health problems that take up a lot of her free time.
Talea has also had some health problems that have taken up free
time. The operative word here is 'free' time. No one pays them for
their time. The sponsor, Glamor Boutique, doesn't have a problem
with the delay, neither should you. FM owes you nothing, not even
an explanation.
Carol Collins was posting updates every Sunday. The constant
Whinging and Bitching from a few malcontents finally pissed her
off. Last Sunday she posted at TG-Fiction that she was not going
continue with updates.
Fiction mania will be back when it's ready. You can check their
website, here:
http://www.fictionmania.tv/
This is where it will show up first.

hey, I miss Fictionmania just as much as everyone else here.
Honestly I'm sick of all the crap everyone is throwing about
because they haven't finished the site. I have a site of my own
that I put up all by myself and I have an idea of how hard it can
be to build a large database website of sort. I am ashamed of all
you who can't help but moan about it not being up. Geez. Get a
grip, it'll be up when it's up. STOP CRYING LIKE BABIES....

From: guest (me)

as for crying, I have gone through at least 3 cases of kleenex
since the site went down. Everyone says that it's a free site, but
nothing is free!!! If it's completely free, then I want them to
cover my kleenex expenses...

Not to criticize fictionmania's designers in particular, but has
anyone else noticed the unusual frequency of "health issues" for
people who run web sites that aren't updated in a timely manner?

Clearly you don't live murphy's law like I do. When something goes
wrong EVERYTHING go wrong. When my mother died I had a ton bad
things happen in a row most of them involving large sums of money
or my health my home business going under.
