Does ANYONE think that this movie would have made a difference if the actress was someonelse , if the story had been rewritten , or a noted screenplay-writer had done something with it ?

From: The Gambler , 207 months, post #22
I think it has more to do with who the exec producer and owner of the production firm is.....

I love Samaire Armstrong, but she is lost in the shadows of the Lohans Britney's, and her co-stars on OC.

Just for comparison... Imagine this movie with any of the following actresses in the lead:

Hilary Duff
Mischa Barton
Jessica Biel
Anne Hathaway
Keira Knightley

and the ultimate
Scarlett Johansson

think about the different angles of marketing each of those actresses, and the demographic differences each would pull in.

Like I said, I love Samaire Armstrong, but I would much rather see Miss Scarlett checking out her body as if she were a guy seeing it for the first time....

Damn , good insight ; I should've thought of the ex-producer , the one main complete influence on any picture . . . . thanks . . . . .

the girl wasn't really attractive and thats all i have to say

If I didn't know better, I'd guess Ms. Armstrong to be nearly 30 years old - just from the look of her skin. It's got that middle-aged look to it, instead of the smooth, tight look attributable to a teen. It's not quite wrinkled - but it's starting to get there. She wouldn't be my first choice either - but then again... it could be much worse. :-)

I've seen her in other works... and you're right - I should probably wait to see the movie before I judge her looks in this one.
