Review: New Outer Limits episode Falling Star
New Outer Limits episode Falling Star
Gender
The time travel is done by taking over the body of a person in our time. At one point, 1 of the 2 male time cops sent to catch the woman is in the body of a woman. Short.

The episode is from the second season and it's titled "Falling Star." Shenna Easton is a singer who is saved from commiting suicide by a fan from the future. Two male cops are sent back from the future to see that history is not changed. They travel back in time by taking over the bodies of a man and woman while they are having sex. Later the cop takes over another female.

Its amazing that this episode made it past the censors. In order to leave their borrowed bodies the two cops must reenact the positions they were in when they arrived.

I saw the episode once on Sci-fi channel, it was pretty good, though not sure if they censored it a little, as I don't think I saw one of the pictures in that episode.

Well, the main plot is that there's this depressed singer, Shenna Easton, who's about to commit suiide when one of her fan come to the future and sorta stows away in her body. She doesn't take it over, she's just a passenger. The fan thinks that if the rock star doesn't commit suicide, her singing and songs will lead to a better tomorrow (and as this is sci-fi, it does).

Some other cops from the future come back to maintain the timeline, as in making sure Shenna commits suicide, but can't take over the singer's body as there's already someone extra in there. So instead they take over the singer's husand and the girl he's having an affair with while the two of them are in bed (their affair being one of the factors for Shenna's suicide before the fan's pep talk). They both get up and put on some clothes, with the cop in the woman taking a quick peek, then both head over to try to convince the singer to commit suicide. After they find out the singer won't kill herself willingly they go back to bed to leave the bodies the same way they found them, while planning to someway fake Sheena's death through drug overdose (using a needle now, instead of just a bunch of pills).

Later on, the two cops take over a few workers who attack Shenna and trry to stab her with a needle before she knocks out two of them, then Shenna's best friend (who is a blonde woman) comes in and attacks Shenna, forcing the singer to flee. The two cops wait while someone robs a gun store (knowing how it'll end up, due to future records), with one of the cops still in the best friend's body on the reasoning that Shenna won't abandon her. They find Shenna, and in the struggle, the best friend gets shot with the drug overdose, killing her. However, one of the cops pops back to the future and back and finds out that Shenna's songs have improved the future, but history says that Shenna's best friend is the one that sings them, so they instead transfer Shenna's into the friend's almost dead body, as the friend's soul/spirit/whatever you call it, has already left, as the episode ends with Shenna, now in her best friend's body in a silver dress, singing on stage. The fan is taken back to the future, but as she was right, supposedly she won't be punished too badly. So, mostly happy ending all around.
