LF Chat GPT Prompt recommendations
From: hskfmn , 11 days, post #1
Does anyone have any fun or interesting TG/TF-related prompts or basic plot lines that they've used Chat GPT to try and flesh out? I'm having something of a "writer's block", and thought I'd ask for some suggestions to try and get the creative juices flowing again.

You could take an existing TG story (ideally with two characters) and drop it into a language model. Then ask the AI to write the prompt based on the situation and characters. Drop that prompt into a fresh model and tell the AI that is playing one part while you are playing the other part.

How do you do that? Any tutorials you can refer?

I use LM Studio on an Mac (M1 Pro). You could also use the OpenRouter web service (they have some free models and a lot of really affordable paid ones that are not censored). If you want to write stories, you should look into NovelCrafter (you'll need to pay for both NovelCrafter and OpenRouter). There are quite a lot of good tutorials on using NovelCrafter on YouTube.

I have mostly used Dolphin 2.6 Mistral (7B) with LM Studio. The context length is 16k, which is quite adequate, but there's a new Dolphin 2.8 Mistral that I think will go up to 32K, so you can give it a longer story. I have downloaded quite a few new models, but I haven't used them much yet.

I paste the following sentence and the story into the system prompt:

"Given a fictional short story provided below, answer questions about the story that the user asks."

Then, I can ask stuff like:

"Write a short summary of the events and characters in the story."
"Describe what Catherine looks and sounds like. The output can be formatted like a character sheet and should be as complete as possible."
"Write a pitch for a sequel to this story, describing the plot and characters of the sequel."

If you use a paid version of ChatGPT, I think you can upload documents, so you could do that, but ChatGPT is quite censored and will refuse to talk about steamier subjects.

How do you get the AI to act in a body swap where it has to embody a different character after the swap? I find it a bit tricky to get that right

If it's a chat, you could use the system prompt to teach the AI to accept "out of character" instructions. For instance, you could say that if what you write starts with "OOC", then that's like a director giving instructions to an actor on how to play a part.

With LM Studio, you have complete freedom to edit anything the AI has generated and you can of course regenerate anything that doesn't fit and hope you get a better response. Having to do that takes away from the purity of the role play experience for you, but can end up generating a better story.

We're in the early days of AI and recreational chatbots tend to be on the small side of things. From last summer, I know that GPT-3.5 turbo was vastly superior in many ways compared to custom NSFW models. NovelAI's Kayra was downright frustrating at times.

If you implement OOC communications, you could ask the AI to generate a status report (what the AI looks like and so on) and then fix any errors in that (or reroll until it gets it about right). Then leave that into the conversation and hope that it helps keep it on track for a while.

I think AI chatbots in a few years from now will have evolved immensely, but it's a good time now to start experimenting with them. It will be like comparing 8bit games with the PC/console games. We have already come a long way since Eliza.

Does this chat support nsfw or slightly suggestive themes?

From: guest (Face Artist) , 4 days, post #8
It really depends on the model you use. ChatGPT-3.5 will not do NSFW content, but it will do transformation fantasies as long as you don't mention anything sexual. Dolphin-Mistral is pretty much uncensored. There are quite a few open source models that you can run on your own machine. Sites like OpenRouter also offer larger models that are fine for NSFW. It's a very common requirement for using language models as writing tools for fiction.

I've been working with Llama3 8b and have been initiating the conversation with "Role Play?".

With that set up I can set the details of the scenario. "You are a powerful witch who is also my girlfriend. One day you decide to..." I like the role play prompt because it allows the LLM to assume a character and keeps the response brief. It also gives a nice little interaction element to it.

Also don't be afraid to put in instructions like "be as descriptive as possible about..."
