Now I know this is old news to a lot of people (hell, most people
probably gave up on DA a long time ago) but I think it's important.
Basically in a recent policy change DA announced they would be
cracking down on Fringe fetishes, essentially anything that could
be considered sexual assault. This definition could be stretched to
cover possession/body swap, as well as a lot of general tf stories.
And a lot of the good stories on DA are on DA only, meaning if they
get culled, they're gone.
Basically what I'm saying is if there's a story you like on there
you should save it now. And if you don''t believe what I'm saying,
AribethTG's da account existed earlier today, and is not there
anymore

Argh. My account is still up but I worry it may be just a matter of

What does the policy say about animal transformations?
Do they have any restrictions on things like this?
Like, certain ages of transformees and/or what animals they
transform into?

Anything with characters below 18 will be taken down, and anything
that can be taken a sexual assualt will be taken down. Basically if
the transformee is unwilling it is likely it'll be gone

It likely means they're just having an AI scan everything and like
all instances of using AI for content moderation it's going to be
indiscriminate.

I don't actually think it's AI. Maybe AI assisted, but definitely
not completely AI. Reason I think this is the case is because there
are still a lot of TG users who haven't been banned yet.
Non-artists having their accounts deleted are often false positives
for bots. If you're frequently favoriting and watching other
artists without having activity on your own, if you look like a
bot, they can cull you. It's happened before - I've been culled
long before this became an issue. DA has always been iffy with
certain fetishes.
For Aribeth, I have a feeling it more so had to do with the fact
that some of the pictures they used were of underage women. Sure,
characters are 18+, but if the picture is of blatant teens as a
placeholder for something sexual, then it's an easy ban. If
somebody reported it, an actual human from Deviant Art looks at it
and makes a split second decision.
If you don't believe me, try to look up teen inspired deviantart
accounts. Report something that looks a little too young, and I
guarantee you that the account will get deactivated within a few
days.

I believe this has been the DA policy so not exactly a new thing.
But now DA apparently has started to ban more accounts without any
warning or notice. If they really are using AI for it.. a lot of
wrong accounts will be banned.

Just found out MayiTGu was banned a days ago :(
Part of their ban was ban evasion. But for May and a lot other
artists, they also had a number of Deviant posts that didn't have
the Mature Content tags. Deviantart has a lot of minors so this
makes sense. You're more likely to get in trouble i think if you
try to skirt the Mature Content categories to maximize ur viewers.
