Sad it wasn't picked up but I can see why it wasn't picked up. The
lead actress was just meh. They tried to do too much in one
episode, imho.

One more thing: Thanks to the OP. I have always wanted to see this
pilot and you made my day! Now bring on Sam!

It would have improved. I could see they were just starting to set
up the building blocks for the series.
You had your Facundo (Paul), divorced with a daughter and the
nemesis (was that Sergio originally), Connor. Obviously there was
also the best friend who believed him, albeit understandably after
needing a bit of convincing.
Saw some elements of the Portuguese version (falling asleep in the
same house as his best friend, actually have to go shopping for a
new wardrobe) and the Philippines one (not going back to his actual
job anytime soon, he's going down the ladder just a bit).

I totally screwed up my post at #12.
I liked the best friend who was Grace, not Allison.
She's appeared in things much more recently than 2010.

As others have said this is an amazing find. Just like the Good bye
Charlie tv series with Suzanne Somers. We Only have the pilot
episode. That is the only thing that stinks is we will never get
another episode. It looked like it could of had potential but we
will never know. Also this lalola type tv show reminds me of Ele é
Ela. Does not wear heels and wears suits and pants mostly.

This is a fantastic find! I really cringed at the casting of Rhea
Seehorn when I heard about this show back in the day, but after
watching two seasons of Better Call Saul I'm mad this wasn't her
big break to be a lead of a show.
I'm really hoping that with this strange new wave of feminism,
anti-feminism, gamergate, "playing the woman card", transgender
awareness, VR and etc. that maybe well see more storytellers try to
explore the differences between the sexes in film and television.
I really hope someday we'll see a more thoughtful gender bender.
It's been 25 years since Switch. Come on, Hollywood.

It was only one episode, we do not know where Eva might have want
in her womanhood.

I think this is a new SAM trailer

@Saint
That's a better, slicker SAM trailer than the previous one from a
year ago, which almost made the film look more like one of those
innumerable, lame, made-for-Hallmark-Channel TV movies.

It's like Waiting for Godot where the release of this film is
concerned. I wouldn't be totally surprised if it turned out it
didn't actually exist past the clips made to trick us into thinking
it was a real film and that everyone who 'saw' it in festivals is
just part of the conspiracy.

I've seen it. It exists. The mirror, night gown, exploration scene
is both amazing and nearly as short as it's seen in this trailer.

I was thinking specifically of you when I wrote that.
You know you can only be made a saint after your death.
I'm onto you.

Thank you Rush for finding and posting this!
I read a lot when this was in pilot stage. The director planned to
give the female character a male shadow, which would slowly
transform as the character's mind became more female.
This could have been a great series.
I will comment that while this was rejected and Sam hasn't sold is
that Hollywood won't innovate. They want "The same story, but
different," which has led to the same formula for every movie.
It also has kept actors like Rock Hudson in "The Closet."
So bummed on so many levels that this didn't make it to Lifetime or
other Chick Flick channels.
Lalola was a hit in at least seven countries.

And thanks again. I couldn't really imagine how it was going to be
particularly good based just on the screenplay but seeing the
actual video had it make much more sense. I think it also helped
that they dropped a few of the details that seemed less likely to
work.
(Along with the shadow idea, I think there might have been talk
that he'd keep his actual reflection, though presumably that would
have just been from his point of view lest things get really
weird.)

PS marc1013, I think what happened is that the top of this page was
mistaken for the top of the first page, I've done that on
occasionally before realising it's just the latest page. I'm sure
it was just an honest mistake.

My apologies. Yes, I went to the top of this page and not the first
page, and credited the wrong person.
Thank you marc1013 for finding this and sharing it. My intent was
to thank whomever posted it, because I have always wanted to see
this, and that person is you! Thanks again. I'm sure a lot of
people that come here have been dying to see it.

For what it's worth I sent the video to Hulu on the off chance they
might consider picking up the series.
