write the name of the favorite shapeshifter, and also if you want
to write why it is your favorite.
My favorite shapeshifter, it's Clayface.
Is my favorite, because in addition to being able to change
appearance in various ways being very malleable, not only can
become anything, but can also become liquid, hard as steel, can be
separated into several parts to its malleable substance to become
in most people, grow giant (until the malleable mass allows him)
and can have more arms to attack, which can also lengthen and
regenerate them if they are cut. In short, Clayface for me and
without a doubt the best shapeshifter that exists.

Probably Martian Manhunter.
Not only can he shapeshift into virtually anything, but since he is
a mind-reader/telepath, he can pass as whoever he is impersonating
because he knows everything they know.

Mystique probably, though sounds like Copycat is even better
because she can copy appearances and powers, it's just that I've
seen much less of her.

My favourites are, in no particular order:
The Chameleon - master mimic, and occasional crime boss. Marred by
the fact that Marvel no longer has any continuity, and they allow
writers to do whatever with characters.
Clayface(Basil Karlo version) - actor, and has a rather devious
mind when needed.
Philip - Flare's little brother, who is also the one who has been
shown in official appearances to enjoy having 'fun' in other forms.
Of the three women that he's been in his various appearances, he's
had sex as two of them.

Although I'd love to be a shape-shifter myself, I have very limited
knowledge of existing characters with that ability. Therefore I
currently hold no favorite... though I am enjoying this thread for
its (to me) introduction to new characters and further details on
those I've heard of previously.

Me too would love to be a shapeshifter, it is the superpower most
beautiful there is. It is the power that is most widely used on TV
(including cartoons, TV series and films).

become anyone, they can also copy the person memories.

if you want to get into pure shapeshifting potential, Odo from deep
space 9's race can eventually learn transform into anything
including pure fire and space-travel capable forms.
the drawback is that for them it is an acquired skill that takes a
lot of practice.

If you go to the Heroic Pub website, they're posting pretty much
all of Flare and Champions(the Champions repost is of the original
mini-series plus some added pages to expand on the story)

There's actually a fair amount of TG going on in both(and in many
of Heroic's books), but since you were asking about shapeshifters I
was pointing to one of my favourite shapeshifters.
