Thanks a lot, Hysteria.

For the phantom limb thing, I had understood you correctly; I only had this question in mind. But youre right: there is no amputation, only rearrangement. Had your brain been able to catch up now, after more than three years?

Ill try sitting down and concentrating next time Ill pee. But I can assure you I can feel the flow of urine through my penis, especially when the pressure is high.

It is easier to get comfortable without a penis, though.

Thats what I always thought. But I can understand breasts can get in the way too. Sometimes, I try to imagine myself with breasts, and I realize that. But aren't your breasts and nipples sensitive to caress?

To begin with, the novelty of having breasts wears off after about 5 minutes. Half of the mystical qualities I've heard TG writers ascribe to them, and that I once believed, now completely baffle me.

Does this mean breasts have some qualities, even when you have them on your chest?

Your wrote: though don't let anyone tell you that facial, vocal, and genital surgery are not super painful and profoundly emotionally unpleasant

Why are they emotionnaly unpleasant?

breasts >>

You're reading too much into my wording. I'm telling you breasts are boring. They are dull. They're sometimes sensitive, but rarely in a way that's much fun: They were super sore when they were growing, and now get kind of sore whenever it's either really cold or sometimes when I've had an orgasm. Very, very rarely, they'll be sensitive in a way that's kind of nice, but that's only happened a few dozen times.

Most ciswomen who I've spoken to say the same thing, or experience even less, since childbirth/breastfeeding apparently nukes your sensitivity in the long run. I've heard of women who can reach orgasm through their breasts or who experience pleasure from those regularly, but they're in the vast minority.

Had your brain been able to catch up now, after more than three years? >>

Yep. What I was talking about only happened for 6 months or so. Now putting underwear on feels normal.

And YMMV on the peeing thing, of course. That's what I remember feeling when I did it sitting down before GRS, but it's been years now, so my memory of the specifics has become a little fuzzy. And maybe my equipment was never super sensitive to begin with.

Why are they emotionnaly unpleasant? >>

Major transgender surgery is exhausting and embarrassing. Everyone there knows about your problem and often treat you weirdly based on their hangups. Each type also brings their own individual problems. Facial surgery sucks because you're in so much pain and look absolutely monstrous for the first few weeks, vocal surgery sucks because you can't speak and struggle to communicate, and gender reassignment surgery sucks because a bunch of strangers are constantly staring at your junk.

Thanks a lot, Hysteria

In the OP, one can read: "One other thing I miss is being able to go around topless. As a guy, I never had to worry about hanging around the house, doing yardwork, or going to the beach without a shirt. If anybody had a problem with that it was their problem. It’s not a big deal, but it’s something I miss now that it’s not an option any more."

There are a lot of alternatives, like sport bras (like this ) or tank tops (although one needs to wear a bra under them). As a matter of fact, going topless for women is not really illegal here (but it will draw a lot of attention, sure).

"going topless for women is not really illegal here"

It's not illegal here either... AFAIK. On the other-hand... it should be illegal for certain men to go around topless (in public)... heck, my breasts are bigger than some women's... and NOBODY wants to see those things! :-)

Anyhow, back to the topic.

@ Hysteria

By chance do you have any perspective or comment on the following quote:

"Ill admit that putting on pantyhose can be quite an erotic experience when one no longer has a penis."

It sounds like the OP enjoys or has a pantyhose fetish. Do you enjoy them as well? Is there any joy in the act of where pantyhose or other garments?

Hysteria wrote: "Next time you go to the bathroom, sit down to pee instead of standing, and try to think hard about what you're actually feeling without looking down. You might find yourself able to forget it's even there."

I did it a couple of times - sitting down and not looking - and I can say I do feel the flow of urine and its warmth in my penis. Can other men report their experience?

The comparison may be hard even for transwomen. If I understand well, there are weeks or months of recovery after the SRS. The time everyting heals, one may have forgotten how it was before.

I beg your pardon, but I do not understand what you mean.

"I beg your pardon, but I do not understand what you mean." >>

Really? Lemme grab some choice quotes.

"When I was a guy, I used to get hard just imagining what it would be like to HAVE TO sit down to pee. And my first month or two as a woman, I still thought it was pretty neat. It felt so feminine, sitting down on the seat, and knowing I couldn’t pee standing up, even if I wanted to."

"I remember experiencing intense sensations, but then Id look down and put my hand to my crotch, and there was nothing there except the end of the vibrator sticking out from where my scrotum used to be. Having an orgasm without having a penis. Now thats a trip!"

"I suppose I was envious of them. I fantasized that they were boys who had been transformed and were now stuck as girls, just like I wanted to be. Or maybe they were girls who wanted to be boys."

"Still, when I get my man erect, with my hand or with my mouth, part of me is always trying to imagine what he feels, trying to imagine what its like to have a cock."

"Ill admit that putting on pantyhose can be quite an erotic experience when one no longer has a penis."

"I was living my fantasy -- I was becoming a woman. None of that matters now. Im a woman, Im treated like a woman, and like it or not, theress not a damn thing I can do about it."

These are not the words of someone with boilerplate gender dysphoria. Most transpeople view their transitions as being largely sexless journey's of self-actualization, but the OP is loaded with implications of kink on the writers part.

Plus, like I said my post, a lot of it reads more like something you'd see on a fictionmania story then any other account I've heard, which makes me question if it's completely factual. The author stresses the gravity and irrevocability of their transition to a degree that made me raise my eyebrows (i'm a woman now, i'm stuck that way forever, that's just how it is, repeat x10), as well as the separation between male and female life experience. It all comes across as very erotically motivated to me as someone who has actually done it.

For example. One of the things they said was that they couldn't possibly hope to pass for a guy again. I can almost say with a 100% certainty that that is a half-truth at best to play up the aforementioned irreversibly. Almost all ciswomen can pass for men if they just cut their hair, dress in mens clothes, and bind their breasts. I've seen modelling shoots (we're talking about very pretty people, here) where that's the premise. The idea that a transwoman, whose body structure had no problem getting them accepted as a man for the first 24 years of their life, would be an exception to this, is crazy.

Yet, that idea crops up in TG stories all the time.

"It sounds like the OP enjoys or has a pantyhose fetish. Do you enjoy them as well? Is there any joy in the act of where pantyhose or other garments?" >>

Man, the word "pantyhose" will never not sound creepy to me as a non-american.

I think I said this in my post already, but in the spirit of bluntness, wearing tights is still kind of hot when I think about it. It's also just really comfortable to wear something tight in that area when there's not anything in the way.

From: cj , 103 months, post #49
Okay Hysteria. I think I get it now... so...

"It also seems a bit weird to apply it to me but explicitly not the OP. My motivations may have been impure, but they sound a lot more sexually into mundane day to day stuff than I do.."

Should have probably read something like...

"It also seems a bit weird to apply Autogynephilia to my story, but not to the OP's story. While my motivations for transitioning may have been partly tainted by what one could call Autogynephilia, and not purely from the disparity between who I am and who the world perceives me to be... the OP sounds much more sexually aroused by the mundane, day-to-day stuff that I was -- more Autogynephiliac than I." ??

Reading your comments throughout and in post 48... I see what you're getting at. Since most of us don't have or hear much about the experience(s) of those of you who have traveled that difficult path, it is something that we wonder about. Albeit every individual's journey is unique and some experiences will vary... it is always interesting (and often educational) to hear from those who know... and the ranges of individual experiences.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us, and for your insight on the OP.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience Hysteria. It's really refreshing to read your account of how mundane being a woman actually is. As you've noted, a lot of TG fetish material overemphasizes the differences between genders (which to me makes it all too predictable and dull) whereas in my opinion the actual differences are more minor and your mind will adapt to the change in circumstances so they lose their novelty.

Forestier: I agree with Hysteria. Peeing is such an everyday experience that you hardly notice much apart from the feeling of relief.

Why should becoming a woman be a sexless journey?

"Forestier: I agree with Hysteria. Peeing is such an everyday experience that you hardly notice much apart from the feeling of relief."

Does that mean you don't feel the urine flow through your penis?

Uhh. Well, because for the vast majority, it is? I even set out with kink in mind, and it ultimately ended up being pretty not-that.

But anyway, I wasn't trying to assert how much sexual feeling should be a part of transition one way or another. I was simply saying it's odd that you're exclusively defining me as an Autogynephiliac and not the OP when it's pretty obvious they were also popping mad boners over the idea of transition.

@ Hysteria- thank you very much for your candid remarks. Tights are a fetish of mine and I have always wondered how the experience might be viewed from someone that was once male and now female- I really appreciate that perspective. I continue to be grateful for this forum and its ability to connect ideas and stimulate conversation.

If you would be open to sharing more fun thoughts on the matter, please do! For example- what is it like having a flat groin? Any advantages? Disadvantages? Do you enjoy clothes that showcase that area such as leggings, yoga pants, or swimsuits?

I ask because I imagine that would be something that would be a female marker and possibly a source of pride. Similar to how only men can grow a mustache. [I grant that some have more facial hair than others and that there is also uncomfortable tucking that could achieve similar results- hopefully you get the idea.

From: Forestier , 103 months, post #54
Hysteria, I never intended to define you and not the OP's author as autogynephiliac. But the fact is we can ask you questions, but we cannot ask her any. For that matter, the OP's author seems to have more sensual feelings and experiences than you do,

About the libido of transwomen:
"In a 2008 study, trans women had a higher incidence of decreased libido (34%) than cisgender females (23%), but the difference was not statistically significant and may have been due to chance. As in males, female libido is thought to correlate with serum testosterone levels (with some controversy) but the 2008 study found no such correlation in trans women." Source

People have different sexual needs and sexual thoughts. Why would it be different in transwomen?

I know you're probably just speaking broadly, but vagina's aren't totally flat. They stick out a little bit.

This'll probably be a letdown for you, but I can't think of many real "advantages" that I could list objectively that wouldn't be simple for you to infer by yourself. Like I already said, I find it easier to get comfortable when sitting down now, and generally the whole area seems cooler and cleaner (you don't really notice how much of a source of awkward sticky heat a penis+balls are until they're absent), and it's nice not to have to worry about getting aroused by stuff in public to a point. But most of the things I prefer about it are very loose and circumstantial. I don't really think about it much.

Disadvantages are that it's harder to pee in filthy places or in the woods or whatever, I guess. And that in really frigid weather you kind of miss the extra warmth/buffering, sometimes.

I'm not really quite sure how to answer "what it's like" to have a vagina in broad terms, since it's mostly sensory stuff that's difficult to explain outside of a context. I guess if I had to try, I'd say it's a lot "quieter", so to speak? When you have a penis it's kinda constantly always there in the background sending you information as it pushes against your pants or skin or you need to pee or whatever. The feedback I get now is much less overt. But again, this isn't something that comes to mind actively.

Yoga pants on their own are kind of a tacky look if you're not exercising in my personal opinion, but I wear nontransparent tights with a skirt a lot, which is both an easy outfit, looks pretty nice, and is really comfortable and cozy while giving you freedom of movement. At one point it felt kinda cool to be displaying my legs in that way, but now I basically only do it for myself

As for bathing suits, I don't get many chances to wear them because I live in a cold and wet place and chlorine gives me rashes, but the couple of times I did it I did feel pretty hot. I imagine the novelty of even that would expire quickly were circumstances different, though.

"People have different sexual needs and sexual thoughts. Why would it be different in transwomen?" " >>

I think there's kind of a difference between having sexual thoughts as a woman and having sexual thoughts about the concept of being a woman itself.

"I think there's kind of a difference between having sexual thoughts as a woman and having sexual thoughts about the concept of being a woman itself."

That's certainly true. I cannot know. But I do know that some transwomen do have an active sexual life.

Where do you live, Hysteria? And did you notice to be more sensitive to cold after your transition? Do you sweat less? Do you have to dress more?

And that in really frigid weather you kind of miss the extra warmth/buffering,"

I would have thought of the opposite, that a penis and testicles are more exposed to the cold (and are even kept at a lower temperature) than females sexual organs.

From: guest (Hysteria) , 103 months, post #58
"Where do you live, Hysteria? And did you notice to be more sensitive to cold after your transition? Do you sweat less? Do you have to dress more?"

I'm from England originally, but right now I live in Ottawa.

It's certainly easier to get cold now, yes. I dunno if that's biological, though. I think think it's mainly because womens clothes are generally designed a little thinner and because I've killed off all my body hair. My breasts do get uncomfortable in the cold, but I think that's kind of a separate problem.

It's hard to really judge if I dress more or less because the kind of stuff I wear is so different. As a boy I paid no attention to fashion whatsoever and rather then wearing styled layers I would just put on a massive sweater or something. Obviously I don't do that anymore, so it's hard to tell.

I do sweat a bit less in hot weather.

"I would have thought of the opposite, that a penis and testicles are more exposed to the cold (and are even kept at a lower temperature) than females sexual organs."

The crotch region is one of the most insulated areas when fully clothed, and testicles expel a crapload of heat that travels down the legs of your pants. That doesn't happen with a vagina. Again, though, personal experience only.

In all honesty Hysteria's story really turns me on to no end. I did read it and I know from her story it's not the best or worst experience but in my mind it's amazing.

I do not agree. I notice that, although I've had them my whole life.

For many of us, the very idea of becoming a woman is a turn-on.
