Are there any audiobooks with tg elements?

How much time have you put in looking on your own?

I listen to audio books a great deal. There area few tg audio books.

"The swap" (a teen book)
Some Jack Clalker novels,
And "season 2 of the Beam". The beam does not have a ton of TG content, but what there is is awesome.

A good bit of time on audible. Thanks for the suggestions.

Are there audiobooks that are NOT first written as normal (or even e-) books?

I would think that any books listed here, that have TG content, would also have the same if an audiobook version exists.

Which then leads me to wonder... I suppose that there may be differences in audiobook versions of any given title, based on the reader / voice.

As I have really no idea about audiobooks, how can we best list that type of thing... add an audiobook category tag to the entries where an audiobook exists... then let people comment on the different versions as a review(s)???

Depends on what you mean by audiobook. Most audiobooks are just a single narrator reading the books, but there are some that are full cast. And Graphic Audio does great adaptations of books with full cast and sound effects.

There are also companies like Big Finish, who do stuff that's more akin to radio plays than audiobooks(and they did the one Doctor Who Unbound audio which did feature the Doctor regenerated as a woman).

But, your observation is correct. If the book contains TG, the audiobook would do the same.

Is the best one, I'll not add spoilers

Thanks Random, for that intro into the nuances (yes, "nuance" seems to be my word of the week / month... or at my rate, year) of audiobooks.

I hear a lot of audiobooks, but haven't heard any with tg focus, i have "the left hand of darkness" from "ursula leguin" in queue that i think has tg theme, but i'm not too eager for it. And maybe the "insignia" trilogy from "S.J. Kincaid" (quite interesting sci-fi), had a few bits of tg and tf, but they were very small and not really important to the story.

But i remember a podcast with an episodic story, full cast with effects (even if nowhere near graphic audio quality) with important tg theme.

The story i remember was "making the cut", you can reach it in "past episodes", it was interesting sci-fi/fantasy, i have not heard the later stories but the universe/city in which all are based has a some tg element, so more stories could have it.

The reason i have not heard the later stories was because the updates were slow and there was a big hiatus, but at the very least that one story i liked.

Forgot an audio book from my little list:

Changers Book One: Drew

Good YA book.

Changers Book One: Drew opens on the eve of Ethan Millers freshman year of high school in a brand-new town. Hes finally sporting a haircut he doesnt hate, has grown two inches since middle school, and cant wait to try out for the soccer team. At last, everything is looking up in life.

Until the next morning. When Ethan awakens as a girl.

Ethan is a Changer, a little-known, ancient race of humans who live out each of their four years of high school as a different person. After graduation, Changers choose which version of themselves they will be foreverand no, they cannot go back to who they were before the changes began.

Ethan must now live as Drew Bohnera petite blonde with an unfortunate last nameand navigate the treacherous waters of freshman year while also following the rules: Never tell anyone what you are. Never disobey the Changers Council. And never, ever fall in love with another Changer. Oh, and Drew also has to battle a creepy underground syndicate called Abiders (as well as the sadistic school queen bee, Chloe). And she cant even confide in her best friend Audrey, who can never know the real her, without risking both of their lives.
Fans of the books of John Green, the Joss Whedonverseand empathy between humanswill find much to love in this first of a four-part series that tracks the journey of an average suburban boy who becomes an incredible young woman . . . who becomes a reluctant hero . . . who becomes the person she was meant to be.

I bought my audio book through AUDIBLE.com-- but they might have pulled it, and book two is not available through them.
