If you could be any hero or villain...

If you could be any superhero or super villain either permanently or temporarily, who would you be?

From: hskfmn , 106 months, post #2
I always loved the Martian Manhunter back when I regularly bought and read JLA comic books.

Thanos! He's super powerful and super bad...And I like the purple complexion.

Mystique. Always wondered why she wasn't the world's top model. I'd give that a try.

From: guest , 106 months, post #5
Martian Manhunter, Mystique, those are good ones. I'm tempted to say Miss Martian. And there's Deadman, of course, but I'll leave him for Boston Brand. :)

It kind of feels like cheating to go with a shapeshifter or a ghost capable of possessing people, though. I'm going to go with Supergirl. I'd be young and beautiful and female... and of course, the advantages of being a Kryptonian speak for themselves. :)

From: cj , 106 months, post #6
Hands down... Mystique (X-Men) for the shape-shifting, of course... but could I switch sides?

While Magenta (Sky High) is also a shape-shifter...I think her guinea pig limitation would be a huge let-down. Although Sheena (Sheena, Queen Of The Jungle) has limited shifting abilities... come-on, a big jungle cat would be cool... for a little while.

Other Alternates:
  • Jean Grey (X-Men) or Elizabeth Braddock (Marvel's Psylocke) might be fun for a while with Telepathy and Telekinesis
  • Kim Possible (does K.P. qualify with no super-human powers?)
  • Kitty Pryde (X-Men) with that phase-shifting, pass-through-anything power.
  • Sue Storm (Fantastic Four)... but just temporarily... actually, scratch that, I'd rather try Violet Parr (The Impossibles), not only invisibility, but force fields too.
  • Max Guevara (Dark Angel) might be interesting with those feline traits and special skills

If you count witches as superheroes / villains... Hermione Granger (Harry Potter), Sarah Bailey (The Craft), Sabrina Spellman (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Tabitha Stephens (Bewitched), or maybe any of the Halliwell sisters (Charmed) would be as good a start as any.

While it might be fun to be a Fae or have some Fae powers, I'm drawn more to the character of Mackenzie Malikov ("Kenzi" - Lost Girl)... that almost counts, right?

I'm kinda' split on whether I'd want to try being Mindy McCready (Hit Girl), even temporarily... I think while I'd prefer Mindy's youth, Natasha Romanoff (Marvel's Black Widow) might have a slight edge here. I dig that they both kick major... I'm just not too into the assassin thing myself. Ziva David (NCIS) OTOH... I might be able to live with. Is Ziva a "superheroine" - the way she's written... perhaps.

Of course, now I'm getting too close to "normal" human now. So, back to the "super"... speaking of super...

Everyone wants to be Superman, but I'd go with Kara Zor-L (or even Kara Zor-El ) (Superman)... just for a little while. I think I'd quickly tire of being so not vulnerable and submissive. :-P

I'd probably want to try being the Termanatrix (Terminator 3) once... just temporarily. How cool would it be to be in that sexy cybernetic shell, with direct interface to all those sensors and all that tech. I suppose that the same could be said of Cameron Phillips (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), but the Termanatrix seems to be less talk and more action.

One I'm not sure if I'd love or hate or become so enamored with the power that I couldn't give it up... Jon Osterman (Dr. Manhattan of Watchmen) - who wouldn't want to have near God-like powers.

Oh, and I'm sure that this is nowhere near a complete list. There are so many worlds and universes out there in established fiction and fantasy... and stuff that exists only in the imagination. I haven't even scratched the surface.

wow CJ awesome post...

From: cj , 106 months, post #8
"The Impossibles" I'd better Get Smart , that should have been "The Incredibles" *face palm*

From: cj , 106 months, post #9
Thanks Nptox.

I'm beginning to think that I spend too much time immersed in fiction and fantasy. LOL

I think it will be Flash for me. I always thought days were too short to do what I wanted. Super-speed could certainly help me ;)

Wonder Woman

@cj - Sue Storm has force fields as well.

For me I would pick Firestar(comics version, who is an omega-level mutant with microwave powers), although I would get rid of the "not immune to her power" thing,
Kitty Pryde(the phasing ability), and Chameleon(circa Amazing Spider-Man #305 or so. So, having the shape-shifting abilities, but none of the mental illnesses that have been added since).

From: Repulso , 106 months, post #13
You guys who are picking the Martian Manhunter. He would be my first choice except for his vulnerability to fire.

I think I'd pick Superman over Manhunter because Kryptonite isn't as prevalent.

Zatanna

She said once that she has a library of magic books that let you do "pretty much anything."

From: guest (Pondus) , 106 months, post #15
I'd probably go with any Green Lantern, or maybe a speedster.

From: cj , 106 months, post #16
"Sue Storm has force fields as well."

I did not know that (I'm not a big F4 fan). Thanks Repulso.

Ashley Crawford aka big Bertha ;)

From: Repulso , 106 months, post #18
I've never been a big fan of supernatural/magic heroes so I wouldn't want to be Zatara or Dr. Strange or anyone like that.

I once read in an old Conan comic wwwwaaaaayyyyyyy back when Barry Smith did the art for Marvel about a hero who said he didn't like using magic because magic was too unreliable so he stuck to science.

I'd be afraid of battling an adversary and being turned into stone or a frog and not being able to turn back. I'd rather be pulverized by a super villian.

It would be tempting to be one of those powerhouses who could juggle planets for kicks, but instead I immediately think of the Puppeteer (the first incarnation of Thanasi, the traitor knight who became Mantra's greatest enemy [Malibu Comics). Later Thanasi would become the hot-chick witch Necromantra. The Puppeteer was a disincarnated soul who could possess almost any person for as long as he wanted, get their memories for a perfect imposture, but also remain in possession of his own mental identity. For one thing, I'd love to slip into the bodies of a lot of big-shot political phoneys and make them speak the truth for a change in front of the of microphones.

So many options:

Rogue, Storm, Phoenix, Mystique. Or Mrs Incredible. :)
