If a non-omnipotent genie tried to give cj omnipotence, the latter
could end with only a fraction of omnipotence. One could only
imagine what it could be...

IMO you're either omnipotent or you're not omnipotent. Anything
between human and omnipotent would range in the superhuman to the
demigod range.
My luck... genie would twist the wish... and trade places with me.

So essentially me and CJ wished for the same thing. Interesting to
see what would happen if we were to fight, lol.
If I couldn't have that I'd wish for omniscience though, that way I
could know how to make all of my other goals and dreams come true.

I would ask for omnipotence. Why would I bother to change Uranus
into a giant football or to reverse everyone's sex? I'm still
trying to get a foolproof wish.

I'm too human to set my sights that high. When anything is possible
and language is so flexible -- only a fool would bank on a wish,
based on so few words, to be granted as desired. :-)
Call me a fool, because I'd give it a shot anyhow.

That's okay Forestier. I was focusing on the ability of any human
to make a "foolproof" wish, when it seems that our nature is that
we are often fools. :-)

The fact of the matter is that human language being flexible is
only a fragment of why wishes go wrong in movies/shows/books.
Genies purposely distort meanings to things that people usually
don't think about when they use common phrases.
There is another component to communication that allows us to
understand each other without constantly running into these
skewered "possible" meanings. Part of that is context clues.
In other words, it's hard to miss someone who is dying's meaning
when they say "Make me immortal" or when an old man says "return me
to my youth."
Sure, context clues allude to the fact that the first one wants to
be unkillable as a human, and the second one wants to be a younger
adult, but a genie will try to find alternate, less popular
meanings just so that he won't have to use his power to grant
someone their desire.
Perhaps this is done out of spite for being enslaved to grant
wishes?

I wish that I could alter the age of someone just by looking. But
careful : just physical AR, not mental !
I like "old AR" so it will be a good way to fulfill my fantasy.
A granny widow ? I AR her to her 20's and if she's beautiful and
willing, maybe we can... ;)
