This movie has intrigued me for a very long time. I have not
watched it but I hope to one day. I was just wondering if anyone
has and what they thought of it.
Here is a trailer incase people don't know what movie I am talking
about.

Why is this here? Proselytize elsewhere

It's not the religious matter that intrigues me it is the MTF that
does

SYNOPSIS: Set in a California monastery, a monk named Anselm claims
to have been visited and impregnated by the angel Gabriel. When he
transforms into a pregnant woman, the monastery is divided about
whether it is a miracle, the act of the devil, or an unexplained
biological marvel. The Abbot refuses to give credence to story,
locks Anselm up and plans on putting the baby up for adoption once
it is delivered. After escaping with the help of some monks, she
has the baby and continues as a woman raising her child. The film
is the directorial debut of Tim Disney, grand-nephew of Walt
Disney. The role of Anselm is played by Disneys wife.

It's been a few or more years since I've seen it. I remember
Fornell (Joe Spano) from NCIS and Brass (Paul Guilfoyle) from CSI
being in this one... and one other big(er) star.
I thought it was interesting - especially since I was at the time
struggling with many social issues versus my religious upbringing.
IIRC, it's not worth buying, and it's not worth watching JUST for
the TF element. But it was thought-provoking, and (again, IIRC) had
good production value to it.
I don't recall any visuals of the transformation process itself, so
if you're looking for stuff liking to "Werewolves of London" or any
of Mako's stuff, you're not going to get that... my lack of
recalling specifics on the TF process means it's likely less
technical than the work James does (cudos James for outdoing the
big guys).
As for the TG element - It's been too long since I've seen it for
me to really give it an accurate assessment. Though, I'm pretty
certain I didn't hate it, so there must have been some exploration
(philosophical and theological, not physical) of the character with
regards to the gender swap.

Message deleted by cj. "Do not attack other posters" It was a legitimate question... albeit with a hasty over-reaction. Making hasty over-reactions due to theological (heck, even ideological) perceptions because we are woefully ignorant of the facts has been an increasingly prevalent trait in humans for millennia. |

It's interesting to see this movie pop up in the forum this
considering character actor Daniel von Bargen passed away a couple
of days ago and he has a part in A Question of Faith.
Also a young Naveen Andrews (Sayid from Lost) has a part.
It was a solid movie that was very thought provoking and has a few
interesting noteworthy TG scenes (I remember a medical examination
and discussion on breasts) but mostly the theme is about faith,
love and the possibility of miracles.
