The new Jason had more confidence for sure the former Jason would
never had the guts to approciate & get a date wwith the pretty
girl. Also, the girl liked that 'Jason' took charge & had a smooth
flow of talk

There's one thing I never quite grasped in this story, how can the
new Jason and Jennifer think so poorly of their former bodies as
they were those people for so long, that was like their first home,
the home they were born in, how can you look back at your first
home with disdain?
"I guess Jason isn't as dumb as he looks, dad!"
"I'm glad I'm not a wimpy girl."
"And I'm glad I am not a brain dead boy!"
"More than once, Jason thought what an idiot his 'sister' was to
give up all this neat guy stuff just to be a weak-kneed girl! And
Jennifer sometimes thought about what a jerk Jason was to give up
the kind of love Ritchie offered and the great friends her
girlfriends were turning out to be, just to become the snotty-nosed
clumsy guy she used to be!"
The new Jason had forgotten about that - just like a boy to be so
scatter brained!

I've been wondering if when the new Jennifer gets older if she
would like her old body back or if she wants to stay as Jennifer
for eternity.

Do Caleb, Eric, or Brad, the original author give permission for
someone else to carry on the story of Jason and Jennifer? I think
there needs to be a story of them grown up in each other bodies.

Technically you don't need to even ask, although it is nice to. How
else do you think there's,so many Harry Potter fan fictions, write
away.

I'm writing a chapter for body switched,,, chapter 4 to be precise,
but I'm going to ask Foster first before I ever release it.

Eric and I would rather not see someone else continue our story. We
just did a 10 years later wrap up and do not want to see events
changed. I may consider doing a re-edit someday as rereading it for
the recent finale made me realize that the story had been told and
was essentially complete in the last chapter we wrote back then.
Eric came to the same conclusion on his own as well. There is a
point when a new chapter break would have made it clear, but I must
have overlooked it or thought differently back in the day.
But Brad did give permission for anyone to take his original
version and do more with it. Just try to make it your own alternate
version with what he put in the original version and not a clone of
my additions to his story. All the main family characters were in
the original. And mention that your version was inspired by Brad
(and Eric and I, if your version does include any elements from our
version.)

Just out of curiosity Caleb, and I mean no offense, but why don't
you want the story to be continued, Jason and Jennifer are both
such lovable and intriguing characters, it literally is the best
swap ever written, and I sort of disagree with the notion that the
story is completed... we never learn what happened with Helen and
Brad and it would be nice to hear about Jason and Jennifer grown up
from their own perspectives other than through Miss suzuki... no
offense but she's one of the lesser interesting characters, and it
would be fun to hear from the two prominent characters in their
adulthood. I think this story needs continuing.

If I ever do a rewrite to make the third act/chapter clearer, those
are a few of the things I might well address. But I think maybe
some of the fun is leaving a little bit to the readers imagination.
Look how many have great ideas for what they want to have J&J
do. The ideas vary widely and are not what either Eric and i feel
is a direction for the story.
As far as I can see they stay swapped but let the others think they
changed back. Since they pretend to be each other there is no
dramatic reason to show it unless they fail at it. And I don't
think they fail. They glory in their new bodies if anything.
Which again, we already showed. It is one of the reasons you all
like the story. So better to leave it to your imaginations and let
you see them they way you want. Besides whatever we did would
disappoint some people's ideas on what should happen.

Well I think what people want most of all is for the story to be
continued, not for their particular version of what they would like
to be written out, but just to see the story be continued into J &
J's adulthood, I've provided my fantasies about the story but in no
means does that mean I want you to change your vision of what ends
up happening to them.
I think most of all we just want a more fulfilling conclusion, it
just feels like the story went out with a whimper instead of the
bang that this story is.
Like it would be nice to hear from Jennifer's perspective of going
to college, getting married, getting pregnant and not having her
period for a while, giving birth, being a mother, and how her
relationship with her brother changes or develops.
And on the opposite end of the spectrum Jason going to college,
dating women, losing his virginity, getting a women pregnant,
getting married, all the typical stuff men and women go through in
life. You covered being young and experiencing things from a
different view point so eloquently it would be a shame not to cover
the later years of college, dating, sex, marriage, and having
children as well. And if you guys don't want to do it I think at
least someone else should be given a shot to try and do it
themselves. I'd rather have you guys write it out and have it be
cannon than just a fantasy or another author be sanctioned to make
it cannon.
Most of all I just want to hear things from J&J's perspective
in their adulthood and not a third party like Miss S. They're the
main characters and it would be nice to hear some narrative from
them in their adulthood if you get what I mean.

I think everyone would rather have the story continued than see
their specific ideas written or left to fantasy. Plus you could
just continue the story until slightly after adulthood, with
children, marriage and all that fun. I just think Body Switched -
Pregnant and barefoot needs to be written.

And if you just closer the story after adulthood, marriage and kids
people can still fantasize about afterwards, that way everyone wins
and we get more of J & J.

There are a few things that could be expanded on with the above
mentioned characters in the aftereffect of the swap, but there is
no story past a few extra pages there. They have already decided
not to swap back. The bro turned sister would presumably be female
for 1/2 decade before having kids, plenty of time to adjust to the
idea, just like any unswitched woman. "Pregnant and barefoot" would
be rather boring for those interested in change since the body
exchange would take place quite a while back. As an example it's
hard to write about "his" reaction to having boobs when as a she,
she has had them for years, possibly longer than his sister, the
previous owner of the body. The swap would be years in the past to
them both if that story were told.
That is all I care to add to this conversation. If I do a rewrite
in the future i will update the list as i did with the Xmas
Epilogue. Thanks to all for being so fond of this story after all
these years. It is much appreciated by both me and Eric but it is
time to move on to other stories. At least it is for us... ;) Eric
has a good story at Fictionmania out recently, Check it out!

I has a question about the new Jason and Jennifer to you guys. Do
the new Jason and Jennifer look back to past arguments they had in
their former bodies with a new perspective. Like let's say Jennifer
is remembering an argument she had with the old Jennifer when she
was Jason, will she now, looking back from her new perspective
agree with the old Jennifer's position rather than her position as
Jason, and also will the new Jason look back to arguments he had as
the original Jennifer with the old Jason, now siding with Jason's
opinion rather than her own in her original body?

(but if I understand that question, their memories are unchanged so
they remember old arguments the same as they did before.)

I believe what is being asked is did their opinions o past
arguments change,
Like if the new Jennifer remembers arguing over the tv remote with
the old Jennifer and when she was Jason she wanted to watch Indiana
Jones, but the old Jennifer wanted to watch Clarissa Explains it
All, would the New Jennifer look back thinking that she was wrong
in that argument when she was Jason.
