By the way Saint, did you see the stats for the trailer skyrocket on Vimeo, after your Friday post?!?!? It went from a grand total of 15 for the 5 days prior to 134 on Friday and 315 on Saturday.

The producers owe you a few bucks for helping them with publicity!

Thank you for writing that detailed post aronimink. We are exactly on the same page and it made my day to read someone else write about the things appreciated from that trailer.

I have such high hopes for this movie because it seems to have genuine heart.

I did not notice the Vimeo stats. Holy crap. I wonder if that will have any effect on them releasing more information. I could care less about money but I really wish the filmmakers would appreciate they already have a built-in audience hungry for publicity and information.

You're welcome Saint. And the Vimeo stats just keep skyrocketing!

Before your 01-16-15 post the "Sam 1028 Trailer" had 33 total views over two and a half months. As of 2:23 EST today, it had 716. Over NINETY-FIVE percent of Sam's total views have occurred since Friday. Put differently, the Sam 1028 Trailer had a spectacular 2069% rise in viewership due to your post.

Like you, I hope that the filmmakers realize our audience is hungry for information, and will most likely provide a substantial portion of the commercial support the film receives.

TG element aside, i did not expect how terrible this movie would be. Low budget, bad filming, bad actors. Good TG though but man everyone except this community is going to hate this movie, it looks like a joke

Uh oh! The troll came out from under the bridge. Somebody didn't answer his 3 questions!

There better be a groping scene of her grabbing those tits or I will be disappointed

O god here we go. Keep your options until the movie comes out. Second this is not a softcover porn or even trying to be.

I am excited for this movie but the production quality seemed rather low end. I hope this is just because it is an unofficial trailer that has been released.

From: guest (TheSaint) , 112 months, post #89
The reality is this IS a low end production however (from what I read) the script is good and the entire cast are trained actors. I can't imagine this movie will look any worse than a 90s era Kevin Smith film or Zerophillia (which actually cost less and looked better than Chasing Amy or Mallrats).

Plus, because this is an independent movie they won't have studio interference to make it more mainstream. Switch cut a lesbian kissing scene because it made test audiences uncomfortable. What I'm wiling to forgive about the production values of this movie is the fact that a major studio would never produce a romantic comedy where a man becomes a woman and then the two fall in love. I'm sure most people would consider that weird even though every married couple I know says "I married my best friend"

They filmed in more than a few locations and rented studio space for the office so that costs some money. The bar at the beginning, the hotel room, the Curiosity Shop, the doctors office, the fashion office and the clothing studio. Also, there's a big wedding scene at the end of the movie and I'm sure a lot of the budget went into set design and hiring the extras.

Also, Stacy Keach, Morgan Fairchild, James McCaffrey and Bryan Batt probably cost extra.

I thought the opening of the trailer had nice lighting and color correction but some of the other scenes looks desaturated and dark. I'm curious if that's just an inexperienced D.P. or if those shots need to be corrected in post.

Holy crap, aronimink.

I just checked the stats.1600 views over the weekend. I wonder if host even realizes he got a huge bump.

From: guest , 112 months, post #91
Probably a 'fake' trailer, that is to say a production trailer, the kind of thing you pitch to get more funding. If so I can see many of the scenes in that trailer not being in the final film. Time will obviously tell, but I'm waiting for an official trailer before I judge the quality of the movie, or even guess the scenes that will occur.

From: guest (TheSaint) , 112 months, post #92
The movies in the can, dude. This might not be the official trailer but they got financed by Mel Brooks and shot the script. My guess is they've submited it to film fests and are waiting to make an announcement.

But, you're right: don't judge the quality of a film based on its trailer

Just kidding. A bump is good.

Saint, do you think there will be any parts in which Sam is in a bra and/or panties and heels? Yeah I know it comes off as a perv question but I'm curious. My fear is that the part when she's trying on the black dress and raises up the dress and showing a lot of leg is probably the closest we will get to that.

From: guest (Saint) , 112 months, post #99
My first guess would be "no." I get the feeling that the tone of the movie is more like a romantic comedy and I've even heard the John Gallagher (co-writer) and Natalie Knepp describe the movie as "beautiful" and "with a lot of heart".

However, this is from Mel Brooks son and there are clearly a lot of F-bombs and the trailer showed a little friskiness to the comedy that I wasn't expecting so my next guess would be "maybe"?

I'm guessing it'll be closer in tone to "Dating the Enemy" but who knows? Maybe there will be a scene showing her dealing with a bra? There are a ton of pictures of her wearing pantyhose so maybe there will be a scene with her struggling to get into them?

Whatever it is I just can't wait to see it. I feel like this is the TG movie I've been waiting my whole life to see.

Tights and hose? What??!!! :) I've only seen the trailer shots.

Come on Saint throw us a link bone? :)
