From: guest , 103 months, post #282
So does anyone out there know the plot and is willing to provide a summary of the film hidden by spoiler text as currently the release date has been narrowed down to 2016-Red Giant phase of the sun.

I have read those posts before. My guess based on these and a handful of other bits of information from the IMDB cast/character list makes me think this ends like

NEWS! ‪#‎SAMTheMovie‬ will be at AFI FEST presented by Audi ! Join us November 9th at the historic at TCL Chinese Theatres in LA!
The Chinese Theater A Few Words From Sams Director
The entire Sam team wishes to thank the AFI Fest festival directors for their decision to host Sams festival premiere in the legendary Chinese Theater. If Hollywood old and new has a capital, it is this iconic and beautiful theater. Among its founders are Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks Sr. Anna May Wong, an early star of the silver screen, drove the first rivet in the theaters steel girders. Declared a landmark in 1968, The Chinese Theater formerly known as Graumans Chinese Theater, and later Manns Chinese Theater hosted three Academy Awards ceremonies in 1944, 1945, and 1946. Among the films that have premiered there are the 1929 Howard Hughes spectacle Hells Angels, C.B. DeMilles King of Kings, and a rather obscure little sci fi film called Star Wars.
The Chinese Theater, a major Los Angeles tourist attraction, is not only celebrated for its beautiful Asian themed architecture and dcor, but also the foot and handprints of so many of Hollywoods brightest luminaries (including the six-fingered imprint of our own executive producer). There, one can see preserved in cement - the eyeglasses of Harold Lloyd, the cigar of Groucho Marx, and yes Harry Potters very own wand, courtesy of Daniel Radcliffe. Today, the Chinese Theater continues to attract some of Hollywoods biggest and brightest stars. Presenting Sam there will be both an honor and a delight and we, the Samsters, look forward to sharing our work in this incredible venue.

I know it's expensive to watch a movie at the theater these days... but adding a round-trip ticket to LA - preposterous! :-)

Thanks for the continued updates Saint.

I just hope that we don't have to wait too long to see it in a theater near me... or on video.

I spent a week at a major film fest a year ago and some buyers agreed that they needed low cost original content, as they were just re-running stuff over and over.

It is hard to believe all the cable and satellite networks would turn down this story by the son of Mel Brooks with Morgan Fairchild and Stacy Keach apprising roles.

There is a gay character in almost every TV show these days. But I guess transgender is still taboo.

On the Sam facebook page someone asked when the movie will be available and they said that they hope to have announcements very soon.

Maybe there is a need for a Sam 2016 thread? ;)

"But I guess transgender is still taboo."

You have got to be kidding. It is everywhere in media.

How long is very soon?

No, this thread is fine, no need to start a new one.

(Yes, I saw the emoticon ;)

The release of this movie reminds me of that Anna Paquin movie Darkness. It took forever for that movie to come out in America. It came out overseas in 2002 but didn't come to America until late 2004. I just wonder if Sam will have the same fate. If it's taken this long, why not just send it to on demand and DVD already and forget trying to get it on the big screen? The market just isn't there.

Honestly, Zerophilia, a low budget, TG transformation film in a similar league as Sam has more visual polish and (slightly) better performances that probably lead to it getting picked up for distribution. SAM is good TG movie but probably a hard sell. It's got some nice cameos by some big names and a wonderful lead performance but its also a little old fashion. The movie is a must see for TG fans but it is not the best. It's just a sweet story simply told. I'm looking forward to purchasing a copy if it ever gets released but temper your expectations.

Hey saint, since you have seen it already, and I am getting tired of waiting, any chance you would email me a brief message about how the movie ends? That's what I am most curious about, as a comparison to the previous tropes and other movies etc. Email would be yoyobowl2002@yahoo.com

From: cj , 100 months, post #299
Guest cj -- you might be able to get some idea of the ending by starting around post 153 on page 8 of this thread.

It's been awhile, and I can't remember how many spoilers were given... but you may find what you're looking for while you wait.

cj -- yeah ive been following the thread for awhile. however, Saint doesn't actually explain it but just gives some hints that many people may be bothered by it. I am looking for a straight up answer if possible since who knows if/when we will ever get to see it
