Watching that unofficial trailer again just reminds me that Natalie Knepp looks eerily like the sort of woman I wish I were. (I'm stuck being male, tall and rather fat, chronically ill, and now old.) I'll probably avoid watching the movie: just feeding a fantasy that can never come true.

To be clear there IS a leotard scene and there IS a high heel scene and Sam often wears pantyhose.

I just meant no TG fan can agree on what they like (look at all the debate over what is the best Lalola) so while I loved Sam others might be disappointed.

And I feel your pain Guest

Which Lalola gets the majority (or at least plurality) vote?

A new trailer is up on the Facebook page and it's really good. The music is a little generic but the editing is really great at selling tone.

Copying what I said in the other thread:

If only she'd said "I understood that reference" instead of just "I understood that".

Saint, can you describe the scene where Sam tries out the new equipment? Thanks!

From: guest (Saint) , 109 months, post #207
It's one of the best scenes, so I won't spoil it, but it is way too short. Literally.

It's, like, 30 seconds long but the tone is serious and not really played for laughs. It's a turning point for the character.

It reminded me of the sex scene in Cleo/Leo in that you have this very silly movie but as the romance gets serious the movie gets serious. I really wish they let the scene play out because it was shot very decently.

They did something in that trailer that I was going to post about which I wish any of the Lalolas or ... well basically any film in the genre did. All the Lalolas and at least the majority of the other films have the lead convince their best friend verbally (well, except Switch, I was never convinced by the convincing) but I was hoping one of them could add something else that only their best friend could do.

Things like a skill (eg: a really good drawer with a unique style that could only be done by them), even half a tattoo eg: on one shoulder that they could match with their best friend to make a whole picture. I was thinking about things like fingerprints and DNA too, so that was spot on perfect, though they really didn't need to say male and female DNA, matching doesn't really work like that/need that. Just the fact there's such a close match is enough. Maybe it was for really making the point with the audience, I don't know - I guess I'd have to see the whole scene for complete context.

Why do the guys in these movies always talk like tough guys. Always a Bronx accent. The women in the same world never do.

It's a New York thing. One of the actors is freaking Max Payne

In a totally meaningless co-incidence, the Portuguese Lola equivalent was a voice in Max Payne 3

Saint, now I am really curious about this 30 second scene. Please spoil it. :)

My bad. It's more like 10 secs. It is really short, but it is beautiful and sweet. It is the "Indiana Jones shooting the swords man" scene in the movie. No way am I spoiling it.

Saint, can you say how far into the movie dose Sam transition from unkempt to well dressed ?

From: guest (Saint) , 109 months, post #216
Pretty much the halfway point. There's a montage of "girl lessons" that alternate between Sam at work and Sam's makeover.

I wish it was longer because there was a great detail I loved. In one shot Sam is carrying a backpack to work. I thought it was great because that's totally what a guy would do before breaking down a using a purse.
