it would actually arrive.

So I'm frustrated that there has been no news about this movie and
I wanted to rant but I didn't want to get everyones hopes up so
here's a scrap I found buried in the internet-->
The costume designer of the film created a pinterest page during
preproduction and you can see her inspiration for the characters
costumes. Kinda cool. Here's the link.

Anyway, when I started researching this film I learned that SAM was
co-written by Nicholas Brooks and John Gallagher and Mr. Gallagher
was originally going to originally direct. Unfortunately, there was
a terrible fire last winter and Mr. Gallagher almost died! I assume
Nicholas Brooks took over directing duty while Gallagher recovered
so they could start shooting on schedule. In any event, the film
wrapped production last March and the editor tweeted that she
finished editing it in April (I think). Since April I haven't heard
a thing.
Here's where I get annoyed. Over the course of this year Mr.
Gallagher slowly recovered (happy for him) and in the fall he
started shooting another romantic comedy that included half the
cast of SAM! They finished the movie in October and a few weeks
later they created a webpage (with tons of behind the scenes pics),
a teaser trailer (that's really an actual trailer) and even started
doing press! I think they even started having screenings.
What the what? What's the deal with SAM?! Why can't we get any
news? Why do we have to wait a year before seeing even a poster?
Oh well. At least we know early 2015 is the plan and hopefully
we'll have some official info soon.
In the meantime here's another little nugget.
Natalie Knepp was doing a Networker interview (the lady with the
mic is hilariously not unprepared) and she mentions SAM. As someone
wanting a U.S. version of Lalola her description of the film is
just want I wanted to hear.
She doesn't describe it as "hilarious" or "silly" they way actors
usually describe body swap films. She's very brief but I love what
she said. This sounds like a different kind of TG film. Click to

Thanks, Saint, for keeping us all up to date on "Sam". Know that we
share your frustration with the long drawn-out wait for "Sam" to
arrive, and with the slow flow of information and press and promos
for what we all hope will be a great film with TG as a main theme.
Glad to see that Natalie is trying to advertise it. Gotta get that
push to the public somehow.

Not a very good interviewer. She kept interrupting Natalie.

Thanks cj. I appreciate the appreciation.
Exactly, Mr. Ram. All I could do was laugh at how lousy an
interviewer she was.

Me too! I saw the Star Wars and Jurassic Park trailers and thought
those were okay. Sam is what I really want to see.

I found some music from the movie!
I like it. Very sweet romantic comedy music. Like something that
plays over a montage of a guy and a girl falling for each other.

Natalie Knepp herself just asked "where's the trailer?" in this
facebook post.

Been very busy lately but last weekend I googled "Sam 2015 trailer"
(or something very similar) and got a result that looked like it
could be legitimate. When I clicked on it I got the spinning
"processing" icon for about 30 seconds. I got impatient and closed
the page.
But guest's post #16 makes me think (hope) that maybe a link is
coming.

I'm just curious to see the marketing approach for this movie. How
will it be presented as? I'm thinking either straight to dvd or on
demand/in a small number of movie theaters. I highly doubt a movie
like this will have a wide release.

There are a lot ways a small Indie movie like this could be
released.
A lot of them show up on cable, Netflix, Hulu, etc. I turned on HBO
yesterday and there was an independent Christmas movie from 2012
staring Eddie Izzard I had never heard of.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised that this movie won't
premiere until April at the SOHO INT'L FILM FESTIVAL. Sibyl
Santiago is the producer of Sam and she's the head of the festival
programming. We'll probably have to wait another four months, we'll
get a trailer, and then they might do a limited theatrical run
before releasing it VOD in the fall.
Or not. We could get lucky. I could wait till april if I had a
trailer or an official webpage. I don't get why The Networker gets
all the buzz and Sam is shrowded in secrecy.

Co-writer and Producer talks about SAM for about 10 minutes.
Unfortunately not a lot of story details but it's interesting to
learn that this was all Nick Brooks idea and that the film has "a
lot of heart." That's what I was really hoping for with the tone of
the movie.
