The original thread
has become too big and has been locked.

Thanks Paul. I was wondering about that.

So what happens during "post" in a movie? Do they do reshoots or
just edit the movie with a computer?

Regarding post #3, I know little about the movie business compared
to some Metamorphose regulars, but I think post production is a
catchall phrase is which many things can be done: edit the movie,
add sound effects and music, and even re-shoot scenes.
Switch had several scenes added and deleted during post-production,
due to certain scenes that didn't go over well with test audiences.

Yes, they're known in the business as "pick-ups" and are common in
post production. As the film is edited and assembled it can become
clear that some bits don't work and require re-shooting or
alternative scenes filmed

Ha! We broke the forum. : )
Maybe we should have started a new thread called Sam (2014)?

Post production also includes cutting a trailer, making a website,
and color grading.

Malika Franklin is credited as the Colorist for Sam. Check out her
demo reel to see examples of color grading.

We should probably call int SAM 2016! Maybe it's just because I am
excited to see these types of movies, but they always seem to delay
them like they were Star Wars coming to HBO or DVD for the first
time. Last Wish, Zerophilia, Eva Adams and All Screwed Up are just
some examples that come to mind about movies/shows taking forever
to be released, if at all.

Got word back from one of the producers. I asked the producer if
the movie will come out this year or next year. the producer said
early next year. So we will have to wait a little longer.

Thanks Tuggy. It's good to know instead of constantly speculating.

Thanks, Tuggy. Any chance of getting SAM updates from that producer
on a regular basis? And Tuggy are you in the entertainment
industry, or do you know the producer through Facebook or whatever?

I get the impression that Tuggy just did what I did: find the
producers facebook page and send them a message. Sometimes they
write back. One time I accidentally hit "friend" on one of the
actors facebook pages and I got into a chat with them. At first
they were like "who the hell are you? do I know you?" I apologized,
they said 'no problem', I asked when the movie was coming out, they
said "i'm just the actor. It's a great script." If have a facebook
page just send a message to one of these

Since it's the business and not their personal page they might be
more likely to respond. Also, they might be exited that there is
word of mouth already.

if you google "nicholas brooks sam," the original update thread
from this forum pops up on the first page of results. at least some
of them must have seen it.

Since everyone is wondering how I got the info.Well I just found
one of the producers Facebook page and just asked them a few
questions. The producer was nice to reply back to me.

I've been wondering about that movie. Seems like it was supposed to
come out a long time ago.

Well there was no date actually set for the movie. All that was
mentioned on IMDB was 2014. No producer or director said 2014. It
wasall sspeculation.

Maybe it was just a movie that was just made so the director and
crew could say they made a movie?

Ryan Ocallaghan has a weird website. It seems to update,
retroactively, months later. It feels like he sat down and updated
what he was doing in January this week.
Anyway, I posted a pic of him way back but here's a new picture of
his character Johnny DNA.

Also, these are professional, working actors and crew members. They
get paid to work and Mel Brooks financed the film. When you make
that investment you have the intention of recuperating your costs.
And when you're an artist (director, actor, cinematography, etc)
you want people to see your work. Some movies do get shelved for
various reasons but I'm pretty confident we'll eventually see it.
That said, Jerry Lewis is infamous for making a Nazi Clown movie
that has never seen the light of day so you never know.
