TG Bodyswap Proposal: What would be a "deal breaker" for you?
From: Cobe , 117 months, post #1
I have thought about this once in while, and I wonder what the other TG fantasists on this board would say.

The scenario is this: You are approached by a girl or woman who tells you that she knows you have a fantasy about becoming a female. (Maybe body aura reading or the like.) This person has exactly the body you've fantasized about: the right age, the right height, the right figure, skin, hair... nothing in any way objectionable. She offers to swap bodies with you, permanently. You can live the rest of your life in the body you've always dreamed of, no strings attached...

...or are there? It all seems too good to be true, and you can't understand why a healthy young woman like this would want to swap bodies. You ask her why she wants to escape the body she's in, and she tells you the reason.

So the question is: Is there any reason she could give that would be an absolute deal-breaker to you, that would make you say "No way!" to a body swap you would otherwise jump at the chance to do.

Some suggested reasons:

She's getting set to enter a convent against her will
She's just been sentenced to a long term in prison
She's in an abusive marriage or relationship
She's run afoul of the Mob and as soon as they find her, she's as good as dead
The doctor just told her she only has a few months to live
The doctor just told her she's pregnant

What, if anything, could you be told in a scenario like this that would cause you to back out of the chance to fulfill your TG fantasies? Feel free to add reasons not listed.

Only reason I would say no is if there were people wanting to kill her.

the long term prison thing I would not do because for me orange is not the new black, otherwise id be able to deal with the rest of what listed. convent I could escape or get out somehow, abusive marriage same thing or I just might be a better wife then her, the mob not afraid of those guys, a doc telling me I have a few months to live I know of many cases when their wrong and then I see another person pass away unexpectedly we don't know when we're actually going to die.

Nowadays nobody enters a convent against her will, and even if that somehow happened there are stages to go through before final vows, with repeated opportunities to quit...

I recall at least one story on FM with a man swapping with a young woman with terminal cancer, just to live a few months as a woman and die as one, so even terminal illness might not be a deal breaker for everyone. I think that a few years ago some old, sick writer (in real life) who was TS had the operation despite death being likely within a year (and indeed did die about then).

If she has terrible credit, and a poor academic background. Finances can be a killer, and the only career I want to do is science, so if the option of swapping excluded that via shit grades, I'd be really reluctant to go with it. What's the point of being your ideal physical self if you have to lose your ideal lifestyle?

Given the scenario you describe... and after ruling out that I was in hell...

Some suggested reasons:

She's getting set to enter a convent against her will -- not likely to deter me
She's just been sentenced to a long term in prison -- deal-breaker (but unlikely to be worse than juvenile detention.. and I could probably live with a few years of that in trade for the swap.)
She's in an abusive marriage or relationship -- after the novelty wears off, I wouldn't be (unlikely scenario in my case)
She's run afoul of the Mob and as soon as they find her, she's as good as dead -- maybe, but still might be worth the risk
The doctor just told her she only has a few months to live -- depends on the why/what / how she/I am to die.
The doctor just told her she's pregnant -- yeah, probably more of a lure than a deal-breaker.

Never being able to contact friends and family ever again -- probably a deal-breaker
bad credit -- not likely at my new age
academics -- hopefully similar to mine (unless I'm on the younger side, then it's not applicable)
Socio-Economic "classing" -- perhaps (but may not affect me for too long)
Neighborhood I'd have to live in -- perhaps
Family I'd have to adopt as mine -- could affect my decision.

This is a really cool question!

That being said, there are some other caveats that people may not have been thinking about (just saw that cj did mention some) but are inherent in any scenario involving a permanent bodyswap: She would take over your old life, and thus you would lose your friends, family, reputation, career, etc. Unless you were able to convince people that you actually swapped, but I'm assuming in this scenario you can't (otherwise why would she want to be swapped). It's for these reasons I wouldn't agree.

What was said above and:

-She has a degenerative disease that won't kill her, but will cause pain/disability.
-She is going to be deported to some god-awful country and her legal opportunities to move back have been completely exhausted (it can happen).
-Her roommates listen to Justin Beiber and one direction and it will be months before you can find a new place.

Plus, I wouldn't want to do so permanently.

Prison sentence, impending death/illness, or any health problems.
The money and education aspects would definitely be deal breakers as well.

Personally, I think it would be cool if the woman was a cosplayer but that's just me.

Any meaningless life, I'd still want to be able to achieve my dreams. So if she lived in any society where women have no power, or lived with people that would block her from accomplishing her goals, or she had a disability that hindered her from accomplishing anything with her life... Then no.

Otherwise yes, you could be a scientist in prison, or a detention centre, so they would be cool.

But America and most of the world, you screwed if your poor, so I'd have to live in Scotland ,England, Finland, Germany or any other country where the state will loan you the fees to go to university.

Ummm... I'd probably just decline, you may well be a woman in the next life, that's the beauty in believing in a religion with reincarnation, make the best you can of this life then rinse and repeat in the next life, one day you won't care what gender you are and will free yourself from the shackles of this world... But that's a whole different discussion.

There are a few deal breakers. STDs such as genital warts would be one, having certain body parts that don't work/amputated body parts/desensitized genitals/missing one or more of her senses (sight or sound namely).
Other deal breakers are imminent disorders like Parkinson's, Huntington's, and Lou Gehrig's disease. Maybe she also has a very dangerous blood clot that can't be removed, and it could cause a massive stroke or something like that.

Other than that though, I think I could deal with pretty much anything. For instance, her being a junkie, or homeless, maybe she is even ill with some disease that might kill her later on. It would all make for an interesting experience.
