Thank you, that's very helpful. I can use one of the graphics programs like Pixlr to establish the necessary height/width pixel counts to keep the picture in proportion when scaled down too.

About the search mechanism, I think that
Google Custom Search Engine could be used. In fact, I think that Paul can even capitalize a little with google ads. Not enough to cover the costs, I know for sure, but something nonetheless.


Other stuff that could be great here would be "reputation system". Ie, somehow, ranking us, by the quality of things that we post. Not negative points... just positive. Like here https://blog.stackoverflow.com/2011/06/optimizing-for-pearls-not-sand/ .

And, of course, based on this system, we would have a fair mechanism to deal with trolls... No newbbie would be allowed to post more than twice a day. And any experienced user, not just admins/mods, would be allowed to delete, or downvote, flames, clickbaits and so on.

I can't seem to find the thread where Paul addressed utilizing another search engine (like Google) here. But that was quite a while back too (years ago), perhaps things have changed.

I just mention it now, because it had been addressed previously (IIRC).

It is nice, isn't it. I like it.

As for the "tags" suggestion. We already sort of have that for the entries here (categories)... and for the Message Board, if the OP uses the thread title (Subject) correctly, it makes things much easier to find. And there's still the Message Board search that will generally turn up what you're looking for, by using some variation of the tag / keyword that you are searching for.

That should at least help, until Paul considers the tags for MB posts.

As there are a lot of interesting movies from East Europe and Asia, UTF-8 character support would be helpful, so people can easily post the names of the movies.

I think 'pinned' or 'made sticky' are the usual go to terms here for fixing threads at the top of a page.
