Duh. Sarah Scott took the picture so if that's Knepp in the monitor
the woman wearing the stripes is Knepp.

thesaint certainly finds a lot of great updates for SAM. Here's
hoping his investigative talents unearth SAM's release date.
Regarding thesaint's recent findings about the recent work done on
SAM, doesn't the continuing work guarantee that the movie is
certain to be released, in some format, at some point?
Regarding an earlier topic in this thread, and choices for the
title role (other than Natalie Knepp), if the producers had not
chosen Natalie, I hope they would've chosen a similar type: a
delicate feminine beauty, not a blonde bombshell. I think Rachel
McAdams would've done well in the part.

This was just posted. Interesting tidbit under the bio concerning
the release date. Take with a grain of salt.
The Cutting Room Presents:
Anna Renee and Allie Schulz
Wed, July 23, 2014
Allie Schulz
Allie Schulz is a singer song-writer, dancer, and actress who is a
recent convert to the pop music world. Having lived in NYC for the
past 7 years, she's worked on Broadway as a musical actress,
performed one woman shows around Manhattan, and appeared on TV and
film. Expect to see her this summer 2014 in Nicholas Brooks' (son
of Mel) feature "Sam", and Louie Season 4 on FX.

I just noticed on Natalie Knepp's website that it suggests Sam will
come out in 2015.
"Other films coming out in 2015: Alto (with Diana DeGarmo,
Annabella Sciorra and Billy Wirth), as well as a Mel Brooks
produced film Sam (with Stacy Keach, Morgan Fairchild, Bryan Batt)
written and directed by Nicholas Brooks where she plays the title
character Samantha."

If that's the case then I am seriously bummed. It might be a long,
long time before we even see a trailer.

Well look at it this way: she just updated her webpage with a new
demo reel and a new layout for her clips so the 2015 blurb is
probably accurate.
However, indie films are tricky.
The Zero Theorem is considered a 2013 film. Its first trailer was
released shortly after it's premiere at the Venice film festival in
September of 2013. It's been playing at film festivals for the past
year and will finally get a wide release (or a VOD release) this
September.
So it's quite possible . . . and this is just a wild guess . . .
that if SAM is not released in 2014 that it will play at the
Oldenburg Film Fest in September and the trailer will be released
online and then we'll get a chance to watch it sometime next year.
It seems there's a film festival somewhere every month but I'm
guessing Oldenburg because John Gallagher has a connection to it.
Anyway, good work RUSH. I totally missed that bit of info and
coming from Natalie Knepp's homepage gives it quite a bit of
credibility.

With all of the hype and waiting wouldn't it be something if when
the movie came out it sucked? We really don't know much of anything
about this movie. In spite of some encouraging signs, it still
might be another Switch.

"Sucked" is a relative term. Right now TG fans are like comic book
fans in the 80s and 90s where there is so little content (or should
I say 'so few films') that we succum to the philosophy of beggers
can't be choosers. We begin to grade on a curve because we're just
happy to have something new even if we recognize that the quality
isn't very good.
It gets more complicated when you realize TG fans all look for
different things with their TG media. There are arguments over
which is the better Lalola because some people like a "stuck"
ending some people prefer a character who switches back.
I honestly don't think I'll be too disappointed because I already
know enough abought the film to film confident it will deliver
things I like. I've seen the actors in other things do I know the
performances will be decent. I've read pages of the script so I
have an idea of the tone and I know that it's more like Lalola and
less like Switch. I've seen pictures of the actress and different
points of the story so I know there is a gradual transition. These
are all things I like which actually gives me more hope than what I
knew about Paradox Alice. I'll i knew about that movie was that
Mako can shoot and edit a film well and do amazing transformations.
But I knew nothing of the plot or the cast or even read any
dialogue and in the end I liked Paradox Slice because it offered TG
elements.
It's like how I was in denial about The Phantom Menace. I was just
happy to see light sabers and droids I forgave a lot when that
movie came out. Sure SAM will be better and at the very least I'll
be happy when I finally see the movie.

The Phantom Menace, LOL, I haven't thought of that movie in a long
time. But the comparison is apropos. I saw Episode I on the first
day it opened in my area, with my then 8 year old son. After the
movie ended we both sat there in stunned silence, grasping at
anything we could like about the movie ("At least Darth Maul was
pretty cool, right Dad???") and both in denial about how bad the
movie really was.
But I think Saint is right. All of the early signs are good. SAM
looks to be far more than the one-joke movie we've all have grown
tired of. I for one was very pleased by Natalie Knepp's recent
update on her website, about the 2015 release, since many-- if not
most -- posters on this thread seemed to have doubts that SAM would
ever be released. Will SAM be the perfect 10 for most of us? No
way. As Saint pointed out fans of tg films have different tastes.
But could it be the best tg film most of us have ever seen? At this
point, I think the signs are very very good.

Director Nicholas Brooks commented on one of his cast members
facebook posts.
"Hi Lucy! I showed Sammy to one of our casting directors (Steve
Vincent). He is such a fan of yours! So am i!!! Hope you are having
loads of fun!"
So I'm assuming a cut of the film is finished. Trailer soon? Who
knows?

Guest2 has a point. I do understand the urge to ask about updates
when we haven't heard anything in a while, but there are a bunch of
people watching this closely, and every little crumb of information
people find is being posted, so if there's any news, it will be
reported here. No need to ask. :)
