I liked the The Last Piece Standing that was pretty good and had a decent storyline but with Paradox Alice I felt they didn't use the female alice enough during the transformation. It primarily focused on the male and added female body parts to him rather then actually using a female body in most shots.

One word EPIC. PARADOX ALICE is da bomb. Mako and crew deserve huge thanks for making such an amazing TG TF movie. BEST EVAR. Will buy DVD. Already got 1st comic.

his movies are many steps above the rest. takes simple guy into girl plot and gives us a lot more than the mediocre amateurish stuff I see around

Just got official word this weekend that the movie is getting a DVD release in the U.S. and Canada come April 1st from Orchard/Sony Films. A few people actually told me about it this weekend too. LOL. It's still available digitally on places like iTunes, Amazon, Xbox etc and in many Asian markets on DVD. Still haven't gotten word about other foreign territories.

The sequel to the movie, PARADOX ALICE 2 is currently being released as a serialized comic on Lulu.com. Issue 2 comes out April 1st as well.

Thanks everyone for their support!! It's been a really cool ride and can't wait to share even more in the future ;)

My Review of "Paradox Alice" :

My primary thoughts about this movie are that it is made primarily for the TG fan, but holds some social commentary about many different topics that may make it entertaining to other audiences.

I had some minor issues with the science -- other than the TG stuff -- such as Newtonian physics; but was also blown away by the quality of the effects and astronomical modelling.

The characters and actors, IMO, seemed to fit the story well and were quite believable... with some possible exception, explained below.

Now, on to the stuff we care about here...

I found the initial reaction of the TF'd character to be what I feel would be accurate and appropriate. After that, however, I found some questionable actions regarding the character's seeming knowledge of how to work with / care for their new bodyClick to show spoiler

I'm both happy and sad (okay, embarrassed) to say that this one rocked my boat as a TG fan. While I would have loved to have had more play time on a few certain scenes - that probably would have pushed it further into the niche and closer to adult at that.Click to show spoiler

I feel that for the most part the actress playing our TF'd main character did a great job portraying a womanizer turned woman in body... and mind. I feel that she could have done a much better job IF there had been more time to focus on that part of the story (but then that would have been a much longer and more costly production).

Overall, I give this movie a 7.5 of 10, with the TG factor being 8 of 10 (if only it was 2 hours longer).

I recommend it!


Other notes on this movie:
  • Ordered from Amazon.com in Region 1 - Disc would not play on my PC's Blu-Ray drive... but worked fine on my laptop and my old DVD player.
  • 2.0 audio playback (didn't test 5.1) was soft on the narrative and loud on the effects through my setup.
  • Wish it had captioning / subtitles (see above).

And did I mention that the effects and graphics were OUTSTANDING.

Awesome review, CJ. Thanks for taking the time to do all that!!

The irony is the first cut of the film clocked in at 2 hrs and 45 min. The #1 complaint every studio and distributor told me to fix before they'd even begin to chat with me was to get the movie under 2 hrs - which meant losing big sections. :( One exec looked at me and said "Who do you think you are� James Cameron?" I chuckled when he said that :)
