Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode The Criss Cross Conspiracy!
Gender | |
The episode with a flashback to Batman and Robin (Dick Grayson) fighting the Riddler, when Batwoman shows up. It turns out she's a bit roguish and Batman admonishes her for putting innocents in danger while thrill seeking. The Riddler unmasks her and reveals her to be Katrina Moldoff, the heiress ...more |

I disagree with you Rugal. The best cartoon version of Aquaman was
from the 60's.
As for voices, I prefer the voice changes simply because its funny.
When the voices don't change the person who claims to be swapped
merely comes across as crazy.
I liked the the last line from Felix Faust though, (borrowed from
Some Like it Hot starring Marilyn Monroe), "Nobody's perfect." He
seemed to prefer Batwoman with Batmans mind in it. Felix, I can
relate. We're guys who like hot women who are themselves into other
hot women. Or as Woody Allen once put it "...my favorite kind of
love. The love between two women." But cheer up. You didn't lose
the spell, so use it again at the next opportunity.

A question was raised why Katrina never tried to reveal who Batman
was. The main reason may be because it has not been shown in this
series that Batman is Bruce Wayne. In every episode, he always is
wearing his costume, and only in a few when he or a version of him
from an alternate universe are shown out of costume, are still
always in a shadow. The voice acting is rough, but this version has
been good in showing many of the more obscure characters like
Booster Gold and the Guy Gardner Green Lantern.

Sara, in the episode "The Chill of the Night", Bruce Wayne's face
is revealed. And its not an alternate universe bruce wayne.
And about the episode Criss Cross Conspiracy, it was enjoyable

maybe she didn't unmask because she didn't expect batman to rally
and defeat her?
She expected to have plenty of time later on. meanwhile being
batman was more helpful than being some unknown guy! I was confused
by Faust being so helpful though. He seemed to be heroic and in the
comics he's a villain who opposed the JLA many times.

It just wasn't logical for a villain to act like a hero!
Batman did remind me of Captain Kirk after his bodyswap with Janice
Lester.
Both were remarkable and attractive as women.

Marcus, thanks, I have not seen that episode yet. I will have to
find it. I read something when the show came out that the producers
did not want to have this be a Bruce Wayne thing, so most times he
was always Batman.
As for Faust, this fits him completely. He sold a spell to a woman
who wanted to take Batman's body. Then, when she came back, she
told him the spell did not work. Faust thought the whole time he
was helping Katrina.
Anyone that saw the episode, was she ever actually called Batwoman,
or was she always referred to as the Bat Lady?

I actually like the Brave and the Bold, and I would consider myself
a pretty good comic collector. It has it's moments when it gets a
little goofy but some of the episodes are quite good. I loved the
one with the Doom Patrol. And while they have made Booster look
like a moron the one with Blue Beetle was also pretty good.
That said I loved the Criss Cross Crisis. Loved the glance at her
breasts when she mentioned the new center of gravity, and the look
when Faust was hitting on her.

No problem Sara, I also read the same thing about Bruce Wayne's
appearance.
In the episode, she is called Batwoman at some point if I recall
correctly, but she's also called Katrina Moldoff, and is described
as a popular athlete and acrobat.
Felix Faust is portrayed as a criminal on parole, but it is true
that in the comics, hes more of an EVIL villain than a "petty
criminal".
Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a oretty good show in my opinion;
it combines really well the 60s batman (cheesy kind) with serious
and modern overtone. Anyone watched the Emperor Joker episode? We
see numerous deaths on screen, and the mix between cartoonish and
serious is pretty well done, sometimes kinda creepy

They did Death well in the episode with the Doom patrol. The
episode mirrored one of the issues of the Legacies comics that is
coming out right now with the death of the Doom Patrol.
