It is a good sign that the actors and production crew seem to hang out. If it was a stinker of a film one would expect them to not continue to associate themselves with the film.

Cool!

I know it's early but I'm ready for a teaser trailer.

Agreed.

Found another instagram account but the guy only took photos of locations. Disappointed.

There is one classy, candid shot of an actress that I'll share for curiosity. It's of Marilyn Sokol who is getting examined by Doc when Sam bursts in.

I know nothing about the movie business. But, that being said, I'm more than a little disappointed by the lack of updates by SAM'S producers.

I greatly appreciate Saint's updates, as many, many of us do. But c'mon, in this age of social media, why should anyone have to be a detective and dig hard for upcoming movie updates???

Can't SAM's producers let a few teasers out of the bag? Now and then? News about how post-production is going? Or release the very first trailers on Youtube? Or mention possible movie release dates? Or at least, a few stills from scenes that have made it into the finished movie?

I would think that, just to build interest in the film, SAM's producers would want to do stuff like that. Very frustrating...

Keep an eye on this Facebook page. They're announcing all the films that made it into the SOHO International Film Festival. SAM just might be announced over the next couple of days.

Slim pickin's these days.

Kelsey O'brien was added to IMDB. Here's a pic of her with the director on location.

If filming wrapped up in early February, shouldn't there be a movie poster, teaser trailer, or movie stills by say maybe June or July of this year?

There are no rules when you're dealing with an Independent Film. They're still in "post-production" so promotion is probably the last thing they'll do. I was hoping they'd be in that SoHo film fest but I think all the films have been announced. I'm starting to get impatience.

Yesterday, they did add a new cast member to IMDB (Village Man)and raise Natalie Knepp to the top of the list but I thought it was so inconsequential I didn't post it.

Saint is right. When it's not a big studio financed film, it does not automatically get slated for release. They need to find a distributor, and to that end they will try to get it in a film festival so it can be seen by audiences. That's an uphill battle for a niche "genre" film of this kind. They need to send out copies to the programmers for the various festivals and get accepted. Getting in a major festival is unlikely. If they get in one or more festivals and get distribution then there could be some kind of very limited run in theaters in the US. If that doesn't happen then they may consider some kind of alternative distribution such as online streaming or direct to DVD, but they'd still need funding for those options.

What people are going to have to accept is that even though the film was made and there is a high degree of interest among the small minority that visits this sort of website, there is a good chance this film will never see the light of day. You may never get to see it.

I wouldn't go so far to say it won't see the light of day.

One big thing that's going for this film is that MEL BROOKS is one of the backers. He's not credited on IMDB but there are a few tweets that show he's supporting this film. After all, his son directed it.

It's low budget but the people producing it have experience and had their films released. Also, it's got some names in it like Stacy Keach.

There is the possibility that it'll sit on a shelf for a couple of years before it gets picked up distributed or VOD. I just hope we see it sooner than later, but I confident we will see it.

I hate the wait. I honestly feel it will be another couple of months before we even get a trailer.

Regarding the question of whether SAM will see the light of day, isn't that a certainty in this digital age? The film is complete, except for possible post-production work. The producers have already gone 90% of the way towards making the film available for purchase.

So isn't it a given that they will spend the last 10% to put the film in digital format, and make it available for purchase at Amazon.com? You can get copies of long-forgotten books at Amazon, NOT because a publisher puts them in hardback or paperback, but because its so cheap to make the book digitally. Won't the same thing work in SAM's favor?

Maybe. I don't know all the intricacies but that would basically be self-publishing and it's a low margin option. Film production, like any investment, is a gamble. At some point if it's not paying off you would want to cut your losses and get back what you can but that would be a last resort. If it seems like a direct online release wouldn't generate much revenue and there is additional cost required, it would be like throwing good money after bad.

I'm not in the film business, so there is probably someone who can speak to this better than me. My underlying point is that the people clamoring for a trailer are jumping the gun by a significant margin.

"My underlying point is that the people clamoring for a trailer are jumping the gun by a significant margin."

Possibly. It depends on a lot of factors. Big budget movies set a release date before they even start shooting and you can almost set your watch to when you can expect a teaser trailer and a final trailer. Usually 6 months before release for a teaser and then 2-3 months for a full trailer.

But look at Paradox Alice. There was a trailer in 2011 but the movie never got distribution until 2013.

I was hoping SAM would be in the SOHO film fest because it's starting soon, on of the producers of SAM is involved with it and all the movies in the fest have trailers.

The good news is IMDB says 2014. I know imdb is always subject to change (and it has) but I feel they are committed to getting this movie release sometime this year. And it still says (Post-Production) on the imdb page so until it's updated to (Completed) don't expect a trailer.

I was told that they would have a rough cut completed by April so maybe a final cut by May and a trailer soon after?

I wish there were more tweets or updates or even a temporary webpage. Werewoman is completely stagnant but at least they have a page and a twitter account that gives updates from time to time. SAM has nothing official right now and the movie is definitely "in the can" and most likely finished and getting a musical score and songs licensed for the soundtrack.
