Arthur: The Quest for Excalibur
  • Categories:Gender, Animal, Computer Game
  • (C) 1988, Game System: PC, Magic, Shapeshifter, Fantasy, Text Adventure, Interactive Fiction, Infocom

Description

Early in the game, Merlin gives the player character, Arthur, the ability to change into five different animal forms; the owl, the eel, the badger, the turtle, and the salamander. Each of these forms are necessary to solve the game's puzzles.

In this text adventure, the male demon Nudd attempts to trick the player (playing Arthur) by taking the form of a girl. It's ambiguous as to whether this is accomplished by illusion or shapeshifting.
