Description

Animal

Through use of a pair of special booths, it's possible for the PC (Player Character, not personal computer) to be transformed into a fox, a rooster, a worm, or a flamingo. Simply place one of those animals into one booth, then get into the other booth and push the button. The transformation is temporary, and you revert to normal after about five moves -- unless of course you do something foolish like turn yourself into a rooster while the fox is present, or turn yourself into a worm while the rooster is present, in which case you get eaten.

The mischievous jester who shows up from time to time might turn the PC into an alligator as a prank. It is temporary, and the PC reverts to normal after three or four moves.

Inanimate

In Zork Zero, it's possible for the PC (Player Character) to be transformed into an inanimate object by using a pair of special booths. Just place an inanimate object in one booth, and then get in the other booth and press the button. The transformation is temporary (you revert in about five or ten moves), and not all that useful. It's also possible to temporarily transform other living creatures into statues or inanimate objects by using a Wand of Inanimation -- a fox becomes a fox stole, a rooster becomes a weather vane, for example. Using the Wand of Inanimation on yourself can lead to some (literally) messy results, however.
