In the beginning of the movie, a female commoner steals a pair or
earrings and gives one to a princess ready to get married. The
commoner wears the other one and the two switch bodies by the magic
earrings. The switch was used by Princess Nawaa as an opportunity
to escape a bad marriage.
The rest of the movie is set in 2003 in Bridgetown. This is where
the magical earrings from Abysinnia in 50 B.C. eventually end up.
The earrings will soon switch Clive, an escaped convict and
Jessica, a hot and pretty cheerleader.
--- SPOILERS AHEAD ---
Soon after Jessica acquires the odd earrings, Clive, played by Rob
Schnieder, found the second earring when it dropped out of
Jessica's car at a gas station he robbed. Both of them switched
bodies during the night, thus making him "The Hot Chick".
Jessica Spencer was convinced she had the perfect life. She's the
hottest, most popular girl in high school, captain of the
cheerleading squad and dating the dreamy quarterback. But she gets
a big dose of reality when she wakes up in the body of a 30 year
old man (Rob Schneider)!
The one thing the Clive the robber does not do when he is "The Hot
Chick" in Jessica's body is to meet Jessica's parents. Jessica's
parents never learn the full truth about her switching bodies.
Jessica tried to convince her girlfirend April that she is not
herself anymore. April didn't believe that it was Jessica in a
man's body and thought that he was going to harm her so she sprayed
him with pepper spray. But, after Jess and April remember how they
first became friends as kids, April gets on board and they start
searching for a way to make Jessica a 'Hot Chick" again.
Clive steals cars, beats up men and steals money from them, and
even becomes a stripper at "The Pole Cat Club." Jessica finally
catches up to Clive at the club. He refuses to help Jessica put
them back to normal, preferring his new life as a sexy, teenaged
hot... (well, you should know what he became by now ;)
Clive has to be forcibly returned to his body, and Jessica is
willing to do anything to make that happen before the change
(Note, since Rob Schneider is the star, most of the story is
centered around Jessica in Clive's body, with only minimal glimpses
of his time occupying Jessica's body thrown in.)
Young adults' film about a group of college girls; they are very
competitive, to the point of being somewhat catty. An ancient charm
causes one of them to swap bodies with a male small-time thief. The
two are Jessica and Clive Maxtone, played by Rob Schneider and
Rachel McAdams. We don't see much of Clive now that he is in
Jessica's body, although we see that he exploits it for extracting
money from men. Most of the action now follows Jessica in his body,
trying to come to terms with surviving, and then getting her own
There is a clever sequence in the men's lavatory at a club when
Jessica, in his body, is going to urinate. There is an attendant,
excellently played by the laid-back Dick Gregory, who eventually
explains to Jessica how to urinate standing up.
Matt Weinberg plays Jessica's younger brother (called "Booger"
apparently, another British - American language pitfall) who tries
on Jessica's clothes. While Jessica has apparently disappeared, she
is actually working at the house in Clive's body, as a gardener.
S/he spots the boy through the bedroom window and glares at him ...
body language which results in the boy's recognising that the body
swap has taken place.
Melora Hardin is Jessica's mother; she makes sexual advances to
Clive without knowing that it's really Jessica inside his body.
Jessica makes the remark that this is illegal in at least five
The thief admires his new reflection.
While in Jessica's body, Clive strips for cash...
... smokes cigarettes...
... and even drinks hard liquor.
