Description
In Marvel Comics' "Giant-Size Creatures" one-shot, Greer Nelson
saved her mentor, Dr. Joanne Tumulo, from a kidnapping attempt but
was shot with a radiation pistol. Dr. Tumulo then revealed that she
was a member of the Cat People, a race of humanoids mystically
evolved from housecats. The doctor offered to save Greer's life by
transforming her as well. Greer accepted, and became a
reincarnation of one of their legendary warriors, Tigra. She
retained the ability to return to her human form, but seldom used
it, preferring her new identity. Since then, she's teamed with
Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, and joined the Avengers.
