It appears in the first story that the male Darkon and an alternate
timeline female version of himself are attacked at the same time
and the result is Lady Darkon, his genetic twin except for the
xx/xy chromosomes, who has his mind and memories and her body and
more forceful personality. Darkon seems to accept the change quite
well. His 2 villainous associates remember him but believe the rest
of the world has also changed so that there was always a female
version of Darkon.
At the end we also see the male body floating in a void, presumably
with the female mind. The story likely continues in the next
issue...
